Cleaned the drain pump, washer lights up on panel but will not lock the door, therefore will not "start"
Possible that the door lock is jammed or there is no trigger from the door switch or lock. Also this can be due to fault in the control panel, check the input/outputs from the controller unit.

humming noise suggests a foreign object in the pump. crack open filter and drain water into a shallow tray. repeat till empty. remove filter completely and clean it. check if something stuck in pump impellor. this should be visible by looking into the filter hole

In order to unlock the door on this machine you must first turn the cycle knob to a cycle that was different than the one you were on. The machine should then reset and the door should unlock.

I had the same problem. After releasing the door and removing the wet clothes, I siphoned the water from the drum. Make sure that the water is turned off and the machine is unplugged, Then I opened the large black cap behind the round white cover on the surface. Be prepared to capture about half galon of water. This is the opening to the drain pump. In my case, there were some toys from my kids which had stuck in the turning part of the pump. I removed them and replaced the cap to the pump. Everything seemed to be OK after that.
I hope that this helps. Please be adivsed that I am not a repair person and proceed with caution and use common sense when dealing with electric appliances.
Good Luck

Joe, Thanks for the prompt reply. OK, it sounds like one of two possible culprits, 1) the belt has broke or spun off. 2) the brushes in the motor are worn...although the initial symptom of this is typically manifest in "no spin" so I'd lean towards a broken or spun off belt. You'll need to remove the rear panel for a visual inspection to confirm or dismiss either possibilities. Let me know what you find out. If the belt is off check for possible reasons "why" ? It can be a loose drive pulley, ( the large one, not the motor pulley ) or simply an unbalanced load on the previous wash, just a heads up since you're looking around in there anyway. Of course the belt itself may be worn ( stretched ) or broke and thus at fault as well. Good luck, I'll watch your post. macmarkus :)

Hi, welcome to fixya. The emergency latch release is behind the small round panel below the main tub door. **Unplug the washer or turn off the breaker before attempting any suggestion given here please** To open the access door ( small round panel ) you'll require a small round needle shaped object or really narrow screwdriver. Put it in the small hole in the panel push in slightly and turn to about 6 o'clock...clockwise that is The small round cover should now come off and expose the pump with the string going through a hook on the pump housing. Be very careful as the edges are very sharp. A string will be threaded through the pump housing and you just need to pull it to open the main door. Let me know how you make out and also if you require further assistance with this problem. If you don't require further assistance and this indeed was helpful to you, please allow a moment to rate this solution I've given accordingly. Thank you for visiting "fixya" today and good luck. Macmarkus :)
