The copier and print portion work but when i try to scan i cant select anything on the screen or when i try to fax i cant enter any numbers.
Well if you see the scan and fax button on the operation panel this doesnot mean you have the scanner and fax card inserted inside the machine, those cards are options, in order to check if you have the cards. look to the right side of the machine, next to print cable should be another network port for the scanning card, and also you should be able to see fax ports below that. if you donot see any of this! this means you donot have those options available in the machine.

Look for a stuck key on the operation panel. Usually is the least used key, a grain of salt will do it!
