MFC-5440CN 4X6 PRINT

I'm trying to use Kodak 4x6 inch photo paper to print images from either "Picasa' or Gimp on my Linux (version 6.06 Ubuntu). The problem is when I print a small section of the image appears on the paper. I am using the first top most tray and adjusted the tray for the 4x6 paper. I tried different paper sizes to no avail. Can someone tell me the exact settings?

Trying to print a 4 x 6 photo with HP Photosmart 130 I'm trying to print a 4 x 6 photo with HP Photosmart 130 printer, from my desktop HP Photo & Imaging software. It prints all but last 1/2...

It is for sure a matter of settings ..so you have to select the paper type ..and the dimensions ..and also the position ...landscape or portrait ...and after that go for the print..Also select the paper type and size in the printer if it has the feature for it ...It is safer to select there too ..cause from computer you have to make it each time and you may miss something ..
If it is still making problems ..just reinstall the printer 's driver and software from scratch ./..(remove the old one ..and reinstall a clean version of the software ) This way you will be sure it is not an software error..

When I use my Brother MFC-465 CN printer to print 4X6 photos with the photo paper bypass tray in proper position, it jams sending the photo paper through. Printer is set to 4x6; software set to photo as...

Hi there!
The compatibility of the paper may affect the issue that you are having. I have a brother printer also and prints on 4x6 size what i can suggest is to try turn the photo paper upside down, so facing the tray, 2 sheets at the bottom should have the glossy side up. and the sheet where you need to print the photo should be facing down. So when the paper roller grabbed the photo paper at the top it will smoothly pass thru,
Hope this helps! Vikroks

Efforts to print 4x6 borderless print result in only top part of photo paper being used and top third of photo being cut off

First thing to try (and I'm assuming you're attempting to print a photo within HP Image Zone & have already selected the 4x6 photo tray? Hint: can be done via printer, properties, printing shortcuts) is to change the 'more options' directly below where you'd selected the 4x6 image size and then change to 'shrink to fit' vs. the default 'crop to fit'... Additional thoughts includes rotating the image (can be done directly on the preview screen...)

Kodak 6850 how do I print 4x6 on 6x8 paper without huge white border... now that you cant buy 4x6 media ?r

the 6'' paper is not the problem at all, you might need to crop the image to 4x6 size before printing since most point and shoot camera will not take the photo 4x6 size but 4+ inches, thus the border. richard

I need to make copies of my little brothers highschool football pics to send into the coaches at colleges, i try to scan the image of a 5x7 to 4x6 photo paper but it ends up cutting the image in half...

The images need to be re-sized. It's important when re-sizing to keep aspect proportions since a 5x7 print is a vertical or portrait print and a 4x6 is a horizontal or landscape print. Therefore, when re-sizing if you check off keep aspect ratio, you may get either 4" tall or 6" wide but not both or you'll stretch the picture distorting it. Picasa by Google is a good and easy to use photo editing program that should suit your needs and is a free download. Picasa Best of luck with your project and please post back with any other questions.

My 4x6 prints are not centered on paper

That printer can't print borderless on 4x6 photo paper, you should use A4 size paper, print and cut the pictures.

When I print pictures on the 3210 HP all-in-one, they come out very small even though I choose the 4X6 in paper size for the photo tray. I've tried everything I can, but the pictures keep printing wallet...

First thing that comes to mind is that a 4x6" print could print four wallet sized photos; be shure your are not printing more than one copy.

If you are trying to print more than one,it will print the actual picure you have and leave space for the number of other nonexistent prints selected.

See page 75 of the Manual. for directions on how to set up photo printing.

If you have photoshop, you can resize your documents using the menu item, Image / Image size, (Alt + i then i again)

Set the resolution to 300, then the document size width to 6 or 10 inches.

This will guarantee that your document is full size, (though the printer should be able to resize it to fit on the page no matter what).

Give these a try. It's really a shot in the dark, but it's my best guess.

Cheers.
Richard.

Printing on 4 by 6 photo paper

What program are you trying to print from? and where are you selecting the paper size from? Make sure 4x6 is selected in the kodak driver and 4x6 is selected in the page set options in your program. Other wise you may need to download new software and firmware from the Kodak Site.
