Jenn-Air fridge front panel won't dispense

Problem started several weeks ago. The ice tray stopped making new ice. I think I figured out the cause for this - the intake vent at the bottom of the freezer was was frosted over, I moved a few bags of food that were partially covering it up and chipped the ice away and it started working again.
A few weeks later, and I have the same problem. I remove the frost again, but it doesn't seem to help. I fill up the ice repository (where the dispensor feeds from) w/ ice from a bag - big mistake. After it was in there for a few hours I hear a thrashing noise, like the crusher is trying to operate but can't. I run to the freezer and open the door and it stops. At this point I try the front panel, tried dispensing ice and water and nothing comes out, in fact no noise at all. The lights on the front still work, show my selection.
The fridge at this point actually stops working, no fridge, no freezer. After about a day where it completely defrosted and a couple times unplutgging and replugging, everything kicks back into gear. Fridge/freezer work, ice maker is making ice...but the front panel still won't dispense water or ice.
Any ideas??

Well, not quite the same as the first post, but my ice maker suddenly stopped even with the "arm" up. Water still working. I felt really stupid when I removed the part that holds and crushes ice, and when I replaced it and put the "arm" back into position it started making ice again. Apparently it had not been snapped all the way in for some reason.

SOURCE: Jenn Air (french door freezer on bottom) icemaker - 2 years old

the water supply in the unit may be blocked or frozen up at some stage, i would try a full defrost for 36 hours and then try it out.

SOURCE: Jenn Air fridge water dispensor stopped working

Hi: You press the switch and it makes a faint humming noise. That tells me the switch on the front panel is ok. The switch for the ice and water is actually on the bottom of the ref. The internal system of the ref is not under city water pressure. Ice is made so that's ok. There is a solenoid where the water attaches to the fridge down below which can fail. Just for giggles try tapping the switch with the plastic handle of a screwdriver. To loosen any scale that might have built up. As I'm unemployed also I'm giving you that trick. Otherwise I would just say replace it. I hope this helps, Jeff

SOURCE: Seems the freezer door was

when you closed the door, the freezer froze all the condensation/melting ice, hence the icemaker freezing.
the best solution is a TOTAL defrost/clean out, then dry out.DO NOT USE HOT WATER/SCRAPERS,let it defrost naturally or use car de-icer.wipe out with bicarb to keep fresh.and then restart as new.

I have a Jenn Air JRSD209W refrigerator. The ice maker stopped making ice. So far I have replaced the water supply solenoid and the ice maker unit. The unit is cycling mechanically, but no water is...

Check the water line that goes from the water fill valve to the ice maker to see if it's frozen shut.
You can remove the ice maker water line from the water fill valve and see if you can blow air through it. If you can't blow through it then its frozen shut.
Sometimes they freeze shut if the water inlet valve was seeping a little water past it when it was off.
If that is the case you have already replaced it so after thawing the water line out you should be good to go.

I have a Jenn-Air refrigerator #JCD2389DES. The ice maker became stuck and kept delivering ice cubes even after dispenser was released. I finally opened the freezer door and got it stopped. Now it...

Yes it could be either, BUT I would go back and make sure that everything you did to stop it the first time is undone. Is everything setted correctly? Is the switches in the right place?

Neither the solenoid or the microswitch could cause the problem you had before, so I would suspect something is not right with the ice maker itself.

Icemaker/water dispenser not working.

Just had to defrost the water tank inside the fridge for a few minutes. Using a waterproof heating pad with extension cord did the trick. Even a fridge needs a warm blanket from time to time.

Jenn-Air bottom freezer ice maker not working

I took the arm of the ice-making machine out of the slot and put it back in, pushing it snugly inside the slot, then raised and lowered it several times. Then, with the arm in the up (stop making ice) position, I felt inside the ice-making tray, where I noted there were ice cubes as well as a sheet of ice at the base of the ice-making tray. I poured approximately 24 oz. of hot tap water into the tray to melt the sheet of ice. I turned the freezer temp control to "warmer". I think the freezer temp setting was too cold, causing the ice maker to freeze the water before it could make cubes. I have a working ice maker again!
