There are universal remotes that seem to be able to operate almost anything, available at stores, but I don't know how much you would save over the $40 original... The Universal remote could be used with a new TV when you replace this one, though.

You can try to buy a new remote from www.remotes.com and see if they can ship it overseas. The unit that you need is an SVA-U01. Good luck.

What is brand of universal remote?

You have to use your SVA remote controll to access the CLOSED CAPTION function to turn it off ....as I just found out myself by the Wiz..... ;)

The only remote that works is the one 4 all. Call ONE 4 ALL for the right model number. They then can program the remote on the phone to operate the SVA tv. It worked for me until the set died this week. Guess why I am looking on this site.
