Proscan tv surround sound hook up

I just got a Proscan LCD TV and i also got a Durabrand DVD home theater system combo (surround sound/ DVD player). the DVD player plays movies and the picture shows up fine on my tv and the sound comes out of the speakers on the surround sound. but my question is how to get the sound from my cable channels on my tv to play on the surround sound speakers.??

This depends on whether you have digital cable box or not. If you have a Digi Cable Box look for the red/white RCA output and connect this via RCA cable to the Red/White Audio input on your surround.

If just Basic Cable look for a red/white audio output on the back of your televison. connect this to the Red/white in on your surround. Could be called tv in or auxillary.

Looking into this model further it seems that it only outputs audio via
coaxial. what this means is that it will output through an orange RCA
connector. Your surround must have a coaxial audio input to use this.
I am not sure if the audio over this digital interface is for the DVD
only or if it will also upconvert your cable.

Try hooking an RCA cable from the orange output to an orange input on your Receiver.

Another option would be to buy a cheap VCR and feed your cable into
that and use the audio output of that into your surround. You would
then use the VCR to change channels as well

Can a durabrand dvd home theater system, model #sts96 be used on tv for surround system

I have a sts92 system and run the tv sound through it for surround sound. My Tv has an AV out option, so I ran component cable from the AV out on the TV to the AV in on the sts92. When watching TV, turn on the theater system and set the function to AV in.

Hook up to tv

hello there. name is ryan lets see if this helps.
typically in a combination unit there is no rca audio ouputs on the tv. reason being is it is a combo unit not meant to be a item within a home theater system. it has the whole home theater built in it. ;) however if there is any audio output jacks on the tv you should be able to wire the surround sound unit up via rca cable output from tv to input on reciever for surround sound

Need home theater hooked to TV with built in DVD

This is the easiest way 2 explain it. Hook up on the home theater should be labeled in and out. same as on the tv. The TV might no have that feature as the DVD is built in. You might just have an option for sound from the TV/DVD to the home theater. Again OUT from TV IN to receiver. Same with any other device set up.

Proscan 32LA30Q & Surround sound

Make sure that your patch cables are cumming from the audio line OUT of the TV to the audio line IN on the surround amp. A common mistake on hook up is usually the problem.
