It is possible that the machine does not start off the cycle because there are errors due to feedback from the inputs. For the program to start up the main program controller must initiate the INLET/MOTOR/DRAIN pump/ valve to open up and allow each function to be driven starting from the flow of water into the drum as also the drain valve to open to exit the water at the point of the program cycle. If this does not happen then the voltage at the valve/motor/pump must be checked or the fault relates to no voltage from the controller. This means the controller is a suspect.

If the water flows though the inlet then the flow pressure should be good, if not the inlet valve is bad or there is dirt in the filter. Also check the flow at the inlet of the water line. Once the water comes into the system the WATER LEVEL SENSOR - normally a pressure switch- must activate at the preset/chosen level to give the signal to the program controller to switch on the motor. What is most important for the motor to start functioning is that the door switch must be ON when the door is shut or this will be an error for starting the motor for rinse and wash.

SPEED QUEEB AWS17NW HOW DO I INCREASE SPIN SPEED IT SPINS WAY TO SLOW CLOTHES ARE STILL WET

Well could have a bad motor, and depends how much are you loading into it. Remember the more cloths you put in it and all that water collects in the cloths and weighs it down. Try a Smaller load! Unless this waster is a HE Washer it wont.

My washer washes fine but when its time to spin it wont spin or drain waster

Under the washer lid you will notice a peg that goes into a slot, that is a safety switch that when it spins and you open it when spinning in automatically stops to avoid energy. Sometimes from normalmuse the switch goes out To test this Carefully when in spin cycle , and lid open putna flat head screw driver in that slot and drepress and try again. You know push in and push out, if you hear a clicking sound on when pushing in and out, then switch is probably good. If no click qt all, switch needs replacing, which is cheap and do it self job with basic instructions.

It quit on the last spin cycle of one load and then next time we tried to use it. Machine filled up but wouldn't work at all. Does it have a belt that might be broken and if so how do you get to it?

if the motor is running, and you can turn the adjetator by hand, it could be the belt which is usually accesable from the back of the machine. if the motor is not running it is more than likely the lid switch is bad. in that case try by passing the lid switch to see if it works with out it. you can do this by un plugging the lid switch and placing a jumper wire in the connector.

Adjetator (sp) isn't spinning properly .

The agitator dogs (little dog ear gears) are stripped. This is a very easy fix and the new dogs are very cheap. Go down to an appliance part store and ask them for agitator dogs for a direct drive whirlpool washer. Ill help too with installtion

Hotpoint washer

Two types of Hotpoints had two different ways of removing the agitator. One had a pop off top that when you removed it, you can remove the center bolt, the remove the agitator. Another one you had to put your fingers under the agitator and pull straight up to unclip the agitator. Good Luck!!! Jim
