SOURCE: linksys password...

I think you are wrong , some model has blank password, for example:
SPA-3102
There is also some model that use blank username and password 'admin' to start administrator account.

(20 years selling and fixing this stuff)

It is possible default settings are different in different countries, I am in UK.

SOURCE: Username & password for WRT54G Linksys Router

As this is posted under WRT54G router - the default IP for that model really is 192.168.1.1

Look at the bottom of the router and locate :
(right under the word Linksys)
Exact Model and Version

If it is a WRT54G :
disconnect all ethernet cables leave it ON
Press and hold the reset button for 10 - 15 seconds (make sure all the lights flashes)

Are you looking for the wireless password or the password of the router?
If you want the password of the router, then try the default password of the router. If the default password doesn't work then you will need to reset the router and reconfigure the router.
If you are looking for the wireless network password, then you will need to open the set up page of the router. Is there any computer connected to the router ? If not then you will need to connect the computer to the router. Or any other computer which is able to go online using the router. Check the IP address on that computer. open the set up page of the router. Set up page of the router is the page where you will find all the settings of the router. under the wireless section you will find the wireless network password
Click here for more information about the routers and wireless network.

After spending much time i nstalling files, it asked for the default password etc of my router. I don't know what it is. the one I thot it waS DOESN'T WORk. Do I really need the software to...

The default username and password should be:

username: (leave blank)
password: admin

See if that works. If not, you can do a hard reset, but it will erase all the settings on your router. To do a hard reset:

1. Unplug the router
2. Hold in the reset button with a paperclip for 30 seconds
3. Plug in the router and hold the reset button for another 30 seconds

Everything should now be reset to the default settings, which includes the username and password.

Hope this helps!

A few weeks ago, one of my daughters friends changed my routers username and password, can you help me to find out how they managed to do this please many thanks mrs t holder

If you don't know the IP address of the router, you can open Windows Explorer, click 'Network', and then double-click your router. You'll be redirected to a webpage where you must put in a username and password. If THIS is the username/password she changed, the only way you can change it back without knowing what she changed it to is by resetting the router. This is usually done by pressing a small button near the back. If she changed the password that other computers use to CONNECT to the router (i.e. wireless), then you'll put in your username and password- the default is 'admin' and 'admin', unless you changed it- and from there you can enter the wireless settings to change the password back.

By holding down the button in the back, you may have reset it to factory defaults for the password and username. Try using Admin for the user name and motorola for the password.

I set up wifi network in my home and forgot the password I used to set it up. Is there any way to recover that password?

Unfortunately, no. The only way to access your network again is to reset the router by holding down the reset button on the back (you might need to unplug it, then plug it back in while holding the reset button). That will reset your web interface (navigate to 192.168.1.1 in your browser while connected to the router)'s username and password to some form of the following:

Username: admin
Password: admin
Username: admin
Password: password
Username: admin
Password:

NOTE: The last combination is a blank password.

Once you've entered your router's web utility, you can set up your wireless again. Don't forget to write down the password...I wrote mine on the router itself, because honestly nobody can see it because it's in my house, so I don't have to worry about it being stolen.

How to program to my new enternet connection

HEllo bro...

I don't know what model that use, however here the best explanation for you..

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Preparation:
1. Username and password for router.
2.Username and password for provider internet.
3.Ethernet cable (rj45 connection)
5. Pc /laptop to setup router ( on step i'm referred to pc)
4. Web browser( more preferred to using internet explorer current version)
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Step:
1. Plug Ethernet cable to router
2. Plug another end Ethernet cable to pcthat you are using to setup
(Now you have cable was connected between pc and router)
3.Switch on the router.
4.Open web browser. Or click here http://192.168.1.1
5.Some window will popup
6.Enter the username and password for router. If default( mean you don't change username or password, you can leave blank for username and fill password with "admin")
If still can't enter try search at google with your model and brand for username and password default.
7.After success enter, then using the wizard .
8. Fill the username and password for provider.
9.FInish.
-----------------------------------
For step 7th, to 9th, you can directly go setup internet connection( depend to model, sometimes it just type setup) where you will find ppp username and ppp password.. change it..
Good luck and be careful. sometimes you make it right but router need time to create new connection..
For the best go here Lynksis setup

Wherewill i type my password?

hello..
First of all, we need to know what type and name for our router.
Then we can google it in internet.
However we still can try to enter router setting (i guest that is what you find)

Mostly router will used 192.168.1.1.
So, you open any internet browser(internet expxlorer, firefox..etc)
Then type 192.168.1.1
--------------------------------------------------------
If you don't know the username and password. YOu still can try and try ..
I'm also like doing that, but it will waste our time. So, using google website,
type "username+password+$brand"
$brand is your router model and name. example you are using Lynksis MODEL LT-239212
so type "username+password+Lynksis LT-239212.

I need to reset this so i can lock it i suppose?

If there has been a password already set that you don't know you will need to reset to factory defaults. If there isn't one look here: http://portforward.com/default_username_password/Belkin.htm and find your router and try the default username and password. If you do end up resetting to factory defaults then look at the link above and use the default username and password to get into your router.
