My battery went dead and once I charged it and returned to the camera it had reset itself to the factory setting of 15 pictures. I have a 2.0 GB memory card and I can not remember the steps to allow the camera to take the additional photos that the memory card allows. If someone could give me the steps to this I would greatly appreciate it.
Use the "MENU" button and follow the program to reset your camera to its card memory. evidently you must do this each time you change cards or battery.

Go to Kodak.com and download the latest Easyshare software and install it on your computer. After, that, install drivers for the camera, and you should be able to share the pictures between the camera and computer.

you have shutter unit defective. indoor works fine but outside too much over exposure..due to shutter unit has oil contaminated on blade or sand damaged.
your local repair shop could charge you around $45 to 65 if they are willing to repair.

Using Your Camera
Some features, such as reviewing pictures and using the flash, require more power than others. Follow these guidelines to get the best use of your batteries:
Limit the time your camera is in Review mode.
Limit your use of the flash.
Use the LCD Dimmer or Auto Power Off features, if available on your camera.
Transfer your pictures to your computer using a compatible power adapter, camera dock, printer dock, or memory card reader.
while you turn try and turn it on slow twist and pull lens outwards(gently while power on /off) and it will retract back in and power on.Work perfectly after.
This problem is frequently due to corroded battery terminals inside the
camera. Remove the batteries and wipe the terminals with a soft cloth
(heavy corrosion may require a fine wire brush, steel wool, or
sandpaper). Remove any residue left in the camera by the cleaning.
Clean the terminals on the batteries in the same manner, and then
replace them in the camera. This cures most problems, but if it

When the battery dies, usually the camera will retract the lens if possible. If the battery is so dead the lens can not retract, I would recommend trying to charge or change the battery. Or try to turn the camera on, and then manually shutting it off if you can.

Try a few things
Take battery out and clean the contacts at the base of the chamber with a pencil eraser.
Ditto on the chamber door.
If nothing happens try charging the battery in another charger or another battery.
