I reset the settings - after listening to the greeting several times, it starts to cut off earlier and earlier so the whole greeting is not heard. The settings - security, number of rings, time and day, etc., randomly revert back to default settings. When a call is made, the greeting starts to play, but abruptly ends partway through and the machine disconnects and no message is recorded. I tried resetting several times and that just seems to make it worse. FYI, it is connected to the cordless phone - I have had other answering machines attached to a cordless phone so cannot see why would be the problem, but thought I should mention that. Thanks.

I have had the same problem when trying to connect the GE-29569 to my PBX. The PBX manufacturer suggested the the answering machine might be pulling too much power, which would result in a dropped call. I have not resolved this problem yet. However, the machine works fine when connected to my home line, but still does not work with the PBX. Since both work fine separately, I can only assume that power requirement might be the problem.
