I posted this problem earlier today. I have a whirlpool front load dryer, it is making a humming noise, it runs for a few minutes and then cuts off. after resting for a few minutes it automatically starts up on it's on. if i push the start button it will not start. it always starts up on it's on. the dryer dries well but it runs and stops all through the drying process and the humming noise is unbearable. please help....
You have a motor that has a thermal overload built into it. This is for the dryer's protection. My best guess is to replace the motor. But before you do all that, make sure the wiring is good from the receptacle to the controls in the back of the dryer. It could not have a good connection thus causing this noise.
