Guide and Menu screens flickering. Picture and pidture screen is

Fumbled with universal remote in the dark when trying to view a direct TV channel and ended up with guide and menu screens flickering. Really hurts the eyes. Picture is fine - so it has to do with the damn remote.

Any ideas out there?

Thanks.
Remote is samsung .

Okay, I purchased a TCL L40FHDF11TA 40-Inch 1080p 60 Hz LCD HDTV 2 1/2 years ago (2 year warranty) and it worked fine until I cancelled my cable subscription and hooked my set up to a new Mohu Leaf HD...

if you can open the back cover then tried to resoldered the main board which may have loose contact using a soldering iron. if still with dim picture then you may check the back light.

White flickering line across top of screen

Set the screen format using your TV's menu. Do not set the format of the screen using your provider's receiver. I had this prob with a few channels with a dish provider when I set the format with the remote from the dish provider. I picked up the TV's remote, went into the menu, set the format, problem fixed.

Can you buy a universal remote for TV 2 to change the channels? My remote for SAT DISH stopped working the lights on the top come on but I can not change the channel, view the guide etc...

The remote is an Ultra High Frequency remote and most universals are IR MAKING THEM INCOMPATIBLE.

Take the TV2 remote into the TV1 location and using the TV1 remote press MENU-MENU. You will now have a screen up that has remote addresses at the bottom. Take the TV2 REMOTE AND PRESS AND HOLD the SAT button on the upper left of the remote until all lights on top illuminate and release. Now key in a two digit number between 1-16 that is not either number on the screen currently and press the pound sign. The SAT button will flash three times now press the record button until the remote addy for tv2 changes to the new number.

You can cancel out of all of these screens with the TV1 remote. Now go to TV2 see if it works. If not try at the receiver. If it works there have Dish send you a new remote.

Thanks for using Fix Ya.

I have a 26inch Console Zenith Color TV, when I turn it on, I get a full pidture and sound but after 30 seconds, about 6-10 inches of the bottom screen goes black--but the rest is ok???

Hi,

Get the remote control and press the MENU key repeatedly until you see the Video menu at the bottom of the list of options you will see EZ Picture.
Use the up/down arrow keys to select EZ Picture and use the left/right arrow keys to select your preference. Set the preference to Preset not custom.
Press Enter, Quit or Menu to exit. See if resetting the TV's Picture settings resolves the problem.

If you have a bar at the top of the screen as well then it could be in letterbox viewing mode. Again just go into the Video menu and turn it off.

Please let me know how you get on.

Good luck.

Have a hitachi rear projection 50" TV (model# 50EX12BA). The screen gets dark when it gets dark in the room where the TV is (but it brightens if a light near the TV is turned on). Also, the colors...

From what i can find, you need to adjust the convergence of the individual projectors. One person said you need to adjust them once a month for optimal conditions, but also said once a year will suffice. I have an extra blue image, and although i was able to clean i dont know how many years of grime off the lenses and the mirror, i lack a remote that will operate the menu. I only have one universal remote by RCA that will operate the channels and volume, but not the input (im using S video input) nor the menu functions. You may have to buy a Hitachi remote (1-800-Remotes wants $40 for it), but i will try to get a better universal one and will post back if i have success.

Gray picture

This sounds like you have the contrast setting too high, go to your menu and find the contrast settings, and adjust to your requirement. As for the words being blurry, this could be because your tv is HD ready, and unless you view a High Definition channel then the picture will be a liitle blurred.
Hope this is of some help?

Sony KV-32FS200 a unclear square picture is appreaing inside main picture

That is called PIP "picture in Picture" It allows you to watch 2 channels at the same time, The only way you can fix it is by getting the original remote or a universal one which has that option.... I am not sure but I think if you unplug the tv, it will reset to factory settings... Idk try it!!

Dark colors Picture going out

It is hooked up to Direct TV. When I change the channel on the TV to another input it looks fine but without a picture. as you do not see tint in another channel means your color section is ok it is due to video or luminance section.
