First check the lint trap top & bottom of dryer could be plugged, if not heater coil is out.

Would a faulty switch interlock stop a dryer from heating?
no. It would stop it from spinning. Now if the dryer isn't spinning then obviously it wouldn't be heating, but if its spinning with no heat the interlock switch is not your problem.

Our window AC/heat unit fan only buzzes when turned on- no matter whether you turn on fan only or heat or cool mode.
so the fan does not spin and blow air? it could be a stick broken fan try free spinning it make sure its turned of. if fan spins freely its probably your start capacitor which is not to expensive.

Whirlpool Dryer, Heats up, but will not spin.
Thermal fuse , is the small white plastic piece on the blower box . That , keeps the dryer from running . Thermal cut-off , is the small thermostat on the burner (element) box , which would keep the dryer from heating .

Dryer spins does not heat up
