You can only Format the SD card from the Menu in "play back" mode not in Record mode!! so select " Menu " in play mode.

SOURCE: I have a Panasonic Lumix

There are no SD memory cards 4GB or larger because the Secure Digital standard limits card capacities to 2GB. While SDHC cards will fit into the slot, they are electronically incompatible and will not work in the DMC-FZ30. You will need to stay with SD cards 2GB and smaller.

I get Mem Card Parameter Error on New 64GB SD Card and Mem Card Error on older 4GB SD Card previously used successfully in Lumix DMC TZ3 Camera. Could it be the camera?

It most certainly could be the camera miss reading the card. However, lately many of the sd cards I have purchased can't be formatted. If you have a PC/Laptop you can re-format the card and then try it in the camera.

Formatting card of Lumix DMC FZ72

The first thing I would try is ejecting the memery card and reinserting it hoping he will prompt for a reformat
If your computer has a slot to accommodate the memery card you can also use your computer to reformat
Memory card readers are quite cheap and plugged directly into your computer

Cannot format a maxwell class 2 4 gb card for my lumix dmc-lc33

The DMC-LC33 is designed to work with SD cards. Your 4GB card is actually an SDHC (Secure Digital High Capacity) card. While it fits into the slot it will not work. You need to use SD cards, 2GB and smaller.

Lumix DMC-LC33 shows memory card error -format this card? Yes or NO..no matter the Sd card , if select yes- no results, if select no - no results.

This normally happens when the memory card gets corrupt. Hope you have pressed OK after selecting YES. Check whether the card is locked. SD card has a small Lock button on the top left. If this fails, buy a new SD card and format it in the camera before taking any image.

Lumix DMC-TZ3

Memory card likely has temporary(needs formatting) or permanent problems(needs replacing, common for off branded china junk).

First format the mem card on your camera by pressing center Menu button then scrolling down to the end of the menu to Format. If this does not work, and you have bought a Name Brand SD card; Sandisk/Kingston/Patriot etc, return it to place of purchase with receipt, or creditcard use to purchase it, and they will replace it.
