Wiring diagram to hook-up remote starter on 1996 dodge caravan

    I got a 96 Dodge Caravan ....
    i hooked up everything the CD Player works , ejects, reads cds.
    but the problem is no sound will come out at all and wen the cd player is on after like 10 seconds later the speed domitors just go down.....what do i do i need to know ASAP please !

    hey i youst installed my prestige alarm in my fordescape but wen i lock the doors o turn it on with the remote starter the lights dont turn on

You have trashed a computer. Maybe all of them. Put a scanner on it and see which ones you can't read. These are dead.

HOOK BATTERY CABLES TO STARTER USE NEGATIVE CABLE GROUND STARTER BODY AND PUT POSITIVE BATTERY CABLE ON THE LARGE POSITIVE POST ON STARTER SOLENOID. NOW TAKE REMOTE SWITCH HOOK RED WIRE TO STARTER SOLENOID POSITIVE POST THEN HOOK BLACK WIRE TO REMOTE SWITCH TO STARTER SOLENOID SWITCH TERMINAL WITH LETTER S THEN PRESS REMOTE IF STARTER SPINS STRONG WITH A GOOD KICK STARTER GOOD.YOUR PROBLEM COULD BE CORRODED WORN BATTERY CABLES. WEAK BATTERY FAULTY IGNITION SWITCH. IF STARTER DONT WORK WHEN YOU PRESS THE REMOTE SWITCH STARTER SOLNOID BAD OR STARTER ITSELF BAD.IF ALL IS GOOD. CODE SCAN CAR FOR THEFT SECURITY FAULT CODE.

quite simple and yet tough your first time

1.) install a memory saver
2.) disconnect the battery cables
3.) disconnect the wires at the starter
4.) unbolt the starter
5.) reverse to install

Replacing old stater in 1996 dodge caravan

For the starter, you just disconnect neg battery cable. Mark starter/solenoid wires, then remove them, then pull out the two starter bolts and drop starter.

You can go to www.autozone.com and register for free. It is full free online repair manual

Locate bolts to remove the strater of 1996 dodge caravan

Almost all starters have ears with holds in them that bolts go through to threaded holes in the bell housing. Find the starter and look around the end without the wires for the bolts.

Save yourself some hassle & buy the adapter to go from Chrysler harness to generic, from same place as stereo or any auto parts place that sells stereos/radios, should have them.
