Is the dial rotating?

1) Copy following link for Tork 1101 product wiring and manuals:
http://waterheatertimer.org/Tork-timers-and-manuals.html#1101

2) Tork 1101 120Volt timer uses #101 clock motor.
If clock motor is working, then dial rotates around clockwise once each 24 hours... assuming timer is wired correctly.

3) Jan 2013, Add a comment and say what you are wiring.

SOURCE: I have a tork 1101

This is for 120 volts ONLY. The incoming "main" black wire from the circuit breaker or source connects to terminal 1. Leave the bridge in place between L and 1. The outgoing black wire to the load connects to terminal 2. Both white wires connect to x.

Can a tork timer 1101 be used to control a 240 volt pool pump motor by controlling only 1 lead of the motor thus having the other lead hot all the time?

Yes: 240 volt can be controlled by turning off 1 hot leg of 240V circuit.
But the tork 101 clock motor still requires 120Volts (unless you buy a tork 240volt 201 clock motor to replace the 120volt 101)

Copy following links for handy resource and wiring diagram:
http://waterheatertimer.org/Tork-timers-and-manuals.html#1101

http://waterheatertimer.org/images/Tork-1101-wired-to-control-240.jpg

In the wiring diagram above, it shows white neutral wire running to Tork 1101 timer terminal 2. Bring this white neutral wire from any nearby 120volt outlet.
In event that you do not have this white neutral wire, you can connect ground wire to terminal 2 and that will give 120volts to the 101 clock motor.
Completing circuit to clock motor using ground wire is violation of national electric code for many reasons, however the tiny clock motor only draws 3 watts, and you will remember to bring a white neutral wire to this timer at later date so you can sleep better at night.

I have a tork 1101 and i want to conect a sumersible pump 1 hp 230 v single phase but i dont know how can you help me.

Tork 1101 has 120Volt clock motor.
So circuit needs a neutral wire, in addition to 240Volt circuit with 2 hot wires.
Make sure brass bridge or jumper wire connects terminals L and 1.

If clock is rotating on time, next suspect is P47 trippers have worn down. Trippers are made of softer metal so they wear down instead wearing down the on-off lever, and that way the timer lasts longer.

I have a Tork 1101. Please advise how to set the OFF time.

Tork 1101 is 24-hour 120Volt mechanical dial timer
http://waterheatertimer.org/Tork-timers-and-manuals.html#1101

ON-OFF trippers are placed on outer edge of dial to set on-off times.
These tripper click on-off lever back and forth.
Trippers wear out since they are intentionally made of softer metal than on-off lever

I have a Tork 1101. I am confused by wiring diagram. Please help.

http://waterheatertimer.org/Tork-timers-and-manuals.html#1101

1) Tork 1101 has 120Volt clock motor, making this 120Volt timer.

2) 120Volt circuit has 1 black hot wire and 1 white neutral wire and 1 bare ground wire. Ground wires connect to green screw and to each other.

3) You have two cables, each cable has black, white and ground.
One cable arrives from breaker box.
One cable goes to Load (light, fan, motor, pump etc)

4) Cable arriving from breaker box:
a) Hot black connects to terminal L.
There should be a brass connector plate that connects terminals L and 1. If this plate is removed, then add a jumper wire from terminal L to terminal 1.
b) white connects to terminal X

5) Cable going to Load
a) Load black connects to terminal 2
b) Load white connects to terminal X along with other white wire.
