Sounds like you need to replace the HALL sensor. (On a scale of 1 - 10 in difficulty, I'd rate this repair a 3.5) It is part number 6501KW2002A and is covered by a seven year part warranty (motor and sensor covered). (warranty may not apply to products purchased at Sears, but part is not all that expensive anyway) No labor coverage after the first year, but it is rather easy to replace. Unplug machine. Remove back cover (4 screws). Take off nut in the center and remove the rotor, which is just a metal "can" with permanent magnets on the inside. Remove grounding wire and wire clamp. Remove bolts with 10 MM wrench allowing you to take off the electric coil thing. Unplug the sensor, un-clip it from the electric coil thing, and replace. The new HALL sensor has heavier components to help prevent a re-occurrence of the problem.

In new installations, this error can sometimes present because of a
miscommunication between the control panel and the wash motor. In this
instance, the washer simply needs to be reset.
Step 1: Unplug the washing machine.
Step 2: While the washer remains unplugged, press and hold the [Start/Pause] button on the front panel for 5 seconds.
Step 3: Plug the unit back in, and run a rinse and spin cycle to test if the LE code is cleared.
LE means that the motor sensor has failed and needs a technician to come out and repair the unit. To remove the water, turn on the unit, press the spin speed button once and press start. It will drain the water out and spin the drum.

First try unplugging the machine for a few minutes and then retry a cycle. If you still get the LE error:
The Hall sensor (part number 6501KW2001A) has failed. The hall sensor is rather easy to replace, and is covered by a seven year part warranty (in the US). Take the back cover off. Take the big nut off and remove the motor rotor. Remove the bolts holding the motor windings. Remove the electric plug on the sensor and unclip it from the motor winding. Snap new sensor on and reassemble. Usually takes under a half hour. On a difficulty scale of 1 - 10, it might rate a 4. This should be a Fix-Ya for your machine, and at basically no cost! In the US, find a service provider using your zip code at http://us.lgservice.com/index_b2c.jsp or callLG at 800-243-0000
Press "end of cycle". Plug off the wall. Code can be an indication of several issues. The most common cause is over-sudsing in the machine. Overloading the wash with too much laundry may also cause the LE error code. Lastly, a breakdown in the signal between the microprocessor and the motor may cause that error code. This can occur if there is a loose wire, see that all wires are tightened..........
Try replacing the sensor assembly. Part number 6501KW2002A. It is on the stator itself where the 4 wire connector clips to. Only costs $17 + change & shipping. Mine works fine now!
