I thought connecting a VGA 15 pin PC cable to the VGA PC in cable port of my Samsung 32" LCD TV- LE32R74 BD C would help to easily transfer my image from my Sony Vaio laptop to the LCD TV...well it doesnt recognise a PC source at all???...( my medical background is neither helping me much here!!)..
I wanted to stream some online movies & watch them on my big LCD TV screen...but alas its not as dead easy as it sounds!
Incidentally I found that my TV has a HDMI/DVI port.
So would just one such cable called..NEW HDMI HDTV to VGA HD15 Y/Pb/Pr 3 RCA Adapter Cable..
..help at all to transfer the image from my laptop to my LCD? ..
Some kind guidance is much appreciated.
Cheers

Yes sir..i think you must looking and buy VGA adapter 15 to HDMI complete with the HDMI cable set. you can find this adapter at the computer spare part store or electronic part store. not cheap but very usefull for you in the next day.
is very easy to connecting...plug you adapter to the output VGA VAIO.. connect the HDMI cable to adapter (like USB) and the rest to the input at your samsung lcd...good luck..
about the slot at the bottom of your SONY VAIO is for expansion of external hardware. you just connect the adapter to blue VGA 15 pin out your Sony.
about the resolution is nothing to worry about it because 1080p is good enough to see the picture or movie from your sony. about 1360 times 768 pixels is about max setting desktop from your sony that can accept by your Lcd tv. but this setting depend to the size of your internal vga sony vaio.....but basicly there no problem at all..enjoy the show....

Cheers mate..
Hope this works...
just out of curiosity was wondering...whats the slot at the bottom panel of my Sony Vaio laptop? is it a video card slot? has it got anything to do with the Samsung LCD TV connections?
