Freezer was working fine. Then started making a hissing noise for several hours. I thought it sounded like it was defrosting itself. Next day, everything was defrosted and freezer is not cooling. Any ideas what part I might need to replace? P.S. There was no buildup of ice or water in the drain pan.
Thank you for your post, Cynthia!
Based off the information you have provided your Frigidaire freezer is not cooling properly and is now displaying the temperature of 56. It sounds like your freezer is not on, even though it has power the compressor is not turned on. I would suggest pressing either the down or up arrow three times within five seconds. That should power on your compressor and it should start cooling properly. I hope this is helpful and if you should need further assistance please feel free to reconnect. -Matt
Good Afternoon friend, thank you for your post!
I see that your Frigidaire freezer is making noise and you have recently defrosted it, but your freezer is still making the noise. Your freezer will make certain noises which are normal operating noises for the freezer.
The compressor is a high efficiency so you may hear it during start up and while running. Additionally, refrigerant circulating through your freezer can make a tapping sound or even a gurgling noise. I hope this has been helpful. -Matt

put on hard start to replace relay and freezer cools to 18 at best
all power to the freezer turns off all by itself every 2 to 3 hours. I have to unplug the freezer and then plug it back in to get the freezer to start working again
