I can't get my Yamaha P150 piano to be recognised when I connect it to my computer. I have downloaded the drivers for 2 of my computers and tried to install them, but it always fails saying "there is no device connected". I have tried using two different cables (in case that was the problem) to connect the piano to the computer; but that didn't help. I have made sure the piano is off initially and then turned on later on (I've tried all combinations of off and on). My computers don't even seem to be recognising that there is "new hardware" attached. The computers are both very good and new (i7 processors and running on Windows 7 etc). All other devices show up on my computers but not this piano. Any tips on how to solve this? Or is it possible I just have a dodgy piano?I can't get my Yamaha P150 piano to be recognised when I connect it to my computer. Re: transfer recording from technics piano model...
The correct way to transfer files from the piano to a computer is via the MIDI out socket on the piano ...not the jack
you may possible need a midi to usb convertor ...which readly available and cheap

If certain notes on your Technics SX-PR150 digital piano are playing at a lower volume than others, it's possible that there could be a few underlying reasons for this issue. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the problem:
Dust and Debris:
Check if there is any dust, debris, or foreign objects present around the keys and internal components. Dust or debris could affect the key's action and cause uneven volume levels.
Contact Cleaning:
If you're comfortable doing so, you can carefully open the piano and clean the contacts underneath the affected keys. Contacts that have accumulated dirt or oxidation might lead to volume inconsistencies. Use a clean, dry cloth or contact cleaner specifically designed for electronics.
Key Mechanism:
Inspect the key mechanism for any signs of physical damage, misalignment, or wear. Damaged or misaligned keys could lead to uneven volume levels.
Sensors and Sensors Board:
Digital pianos like the Technics SX-PR150 use sensors to detect key presses and control volume. If a sensor is malfunctioning or damaged, it could result in volume inconsistencies. Check the sensors and their connections for any issues.
Audio Output and Amplification:
Check if the issue is specific to the internal speakers or if it also occurs when using headphones or external amplification. If the issue is present across all audio outputs, it might be related to the piano's internal components.
Factory Reset:
Perform a factory reset on the piano to restore its settings to default. This can help rule out any software-related issues that might be affecting the volume levels.
Professional Inspection:
If the above steps do not resolve the issue, it's recommended to seek the assistance of a professional technician who is experienced in repairing digital pianos. They can diagnose the problem accurately and perform any necessary repairs.
Please exercise caution while performing any internal inspections or repairs on your digital piano, especially if you're not experienced in working with electronic equipment. If you're unsure or uncomfortable with the process, it's best to seek professional help to avoid causing further damage.
Also, in addition to more info I need; look on p 91 of the online owner's manual linked below. Pay attention to Sounds and Effects, the first section therein. Follow the directions closely, esp., read pp. 26, 83, and 86 which are referenced for detailed help w/ sound issues. TECHNICS SX PR305 Manual Page 91
On the rear of the piano there will be two 1/4" jacks labeled Output Left and Right. One will be labled Mono as well. If you are using a stereo amp, use both, and if a mono amp use just the mono output. If your amp is a guitar type, connect a shielded cable with 1/4" phone jacks such as you'd use with an electric guitar from these jacks to your amplifier. If you are useing a home stereo amp, you will need a cable with 1/4" phone jacks from the piano to RCA phono jacks on the amp end.
Have you had any luck with your Technics piano? I've got the same piano and Mine does not work either. No lights on the control panel, only red power light comes on. Does yours have any led lights besides the power light that come on? I've investigated and I have learned a lot from this piano. 4 main boards. Im pretty sure I've got it down to one board. Interested in selling me any boards from your Piano??
hi... Your L/R jacks in the back need to connect to the "line-in" connector on your sound card. I think the jacks on the Clav are 1/4 inch. Go to Radio shack and ask for an adapter that will take two 1/4 inch plugs/cable and convert it to a 1/8 inch stereo plug. The Midi connects From (keyboard) To (soundcard) Cables are available at any music store
We're talking about audio recording. If so you must conntect your piano by using the L + R outputs with your sound card or mixer line inputs (that's how I do this). USB is ok if you want to use your piano as a master keyboard (MIDI). Another important thing is that you must have an additional application installed called sequencer ( for example Cubase Sx, Sonar...) which will let you store your digital music. I'm not talking about the proper settings of them because it could take a day or so...:) Overall, you will have to learn a bit about the home studio, home recording techniques. There are tons of informations on web. A great thing is that you can use your CP33 as a master keyboard to control additional virtual instruments (VST) or for example play different piano samples (check Synthogy Ivory). Possibilites are endless!
