The GE Profile Model PFSS6PKWBSS control panel display touchpad buttons would not operate the ice dispenser or water dispenser and the dispenser LED lights stay on constantly now instead of going off. Now a few days later the control panel display is completely dark and not showing anything. The ice maker is making ice but will not dispense and it will not dispense water. But the bottom freezer unit and refrigerator cooling areas are working fine.

need to call ge at 1800-386-1215 some of these sxs have a door insulation issue that they will either send replacement doors to an authorized service company to exchange at no cost to you or offer a rebate for a newer model. yours might be in this group
have your model and serial number out of the ref located in the refrigerator section, about 4-5 inches from the celing down the right side and call and see

Had the same problem. Replace the water filter and is should begin making ice again.

check for a child lockout button it will look like a tiny padlock ,press and hold for 3 sec.(could be the freezer door light switch)

Ice maker Diagnostic Test:
- Remove the ice bucket
-Turn the ice maker off, wait 15 seconds than turn it back on
-Press the ice paddle three times, this will begin diagnostic test.
-PLEASE DO NOT TOUCH ICE MAKER DURING DIAGNOSTICS
-In 3 minutes you should see the rack inside turn 360 degrees
-AND the ice maker bowl should fill with water
-IF either DID NOT work, call 1-800-GE-CARES for ice maker replacement. A
service call is approx $80. The $80 will be deducted from the
part/labor if you choose to purchase/install parts from the service
technician. If not, you will pay for the service call. Good luck.
