Check Fault Codes

If the display lights are flashing and there is an error code in the display window, check the wiring diagram and tech sheet in the dishwasher that will provide information on the fault.

If lights are flashing on the control panel, the drain pump might not be working properly. For two-wire drain pump motors check them for continuity using an Ohm meter. If it's defective You'll need to replace it. Drain pumps are not repairable.

If the lights are flashing on the display the entire touchpad and control panel assembly might be defective. If the display works but the dishwasher functions are all out of synch, or some of the buttons don't respond properly the entire touchpad and control panel might need to be replaced.

You are right the control panel is very expensive, you can try the filter to see if you can get it working, but I must admit a new microwave oven sounds appealing.

When certain buttons function yet others do not the fix is to replace the touchpad

To reset the panel display, press and hold the top left (Energy Saver) and top right (Alarm) buttons at the same time for about 10 seconds--the panel will beep and reset.
The panel will require a reset whenever the power is interrupted..

Unplug the range.
Remove the control panel to access the touchpad and electronic control.
Remove the touchpad ribbon from the control inspect for and clean any corrosion and reinsert it.
If this fails, replace the touchpad.
