Horizontal lines on printed page

I am getting horizontal lines on my printed pages wtih the HP Laser Jet 1300 printer. It also appears to be picking up some of the ink printed lettering at the top of the page and reprinting it a couple of inches down. What can I do to stop the problem

Your printer head - the ink cartridge in case of most HP deskjet printes, in most cases is defective and you need to replace it to have a clean print.

When I print a test page, I get a 3/4 inch black horizontal line from edge to edge (fgoes through Windows XP Printer Test Page header). Light is steady green.

Is a toner cartridge problem (Q2613A), try witn another.

My Laser jet CM1312nfi keeps printing pages with a lot of black lines on the paper. At first the black horizontal lines were about every 2 inches or so, now they cover the whole page, where the page looks...

It could be a defective black toner cartridge.

When I print I only get a line of garmage at the top of the page - i've tried rebooting, etc.

Have you printed a test page without it pluggetd to the computer? What did you get.
Try telling the computer it is a HP Laser jet II
Then print a test page, tell me what you get.
Only put a couple pieces of paper in it just incase it goes nuts.

Printing with a black horizontal line across bottom of the page

Wipe the cartridge.Use cotton but dont put water on it only cotton.if you have deiones water its good to use.
