DE shows-the door will not lock.I even took it apart.

I need a parts manuel to see how it is put togerther. It looks like the small "rod" that goes in the spring (I think) is missing.

I just went thru all of this. i read everyone's comments that i could find anywhere online. finally i read that one guy took his door switch apart and looked at it and put it back together and it worked, well out of desperation i did that too, and low and behold, it started working again. that poor guy had replaced the water pump and the door latch and the circuit board. even all of that didn't fix his, he said, but once he took the old latch apart and then put it back together it started working, go figure

Broken connector to latch control rod

on the rod in question hooks to a plastic holder that pops into a round hole on the latch. you should be able to look at the latch and see a round hole where the plastic keeper for the rod has fallen out look for this plastic holder in the bottom of the door usually that's where this plastic keeper falls. if you cant find it go to Toyota service desk and let them know that the rod has fallen out of the latch and you don't know what you call it. I believe if you ask the service person will come out to look at the latch and they will actually show you where the rod hooks up. and if your missing the plastic keeper they can write what you need and then while your there go to the parts dept and see if they have that part you need to put back into the latch should be a round hole in the latch where the plastic keeper will go. if you still cant figure it out go back in to Topeka Toyota and ask if they would come out to show you where it goes. if they don't want to help you then see if they can print out a picture for you that shows the latch and where the rod goes. all else fails go to the library and find a automotive manual for your car on door latch and handle. I also bet that you can go onto u tube and search for what you need to show you where that plastic keeper goes and where the rod hooks up we as mechanics can tell you how to do this and that but if you don't have a mechanical understanding of what we are telling what to do step by step to fix your problem it may be hard for you to understand. and that's understandable so I hope this will give you some more options for you. let me know if I can help in any way. god bless you steve

I have a 93 lexus es300. the door opens from the inside but will not open from the outside. Can you explain or send me a diagram of how the handle operates. the handle appears to be o.k. and the lock is...

There's a short rod held in place with plastic fasteners that goes from the outside handle to the door latch. You need to take off the door panel upholstery panel to get to it. Sometimes you get lucky and only need to put it back in place. If the plastic part is missing, look if it's in the bottom of the door. It's a small piece, but is a dealer item. A automotive glass shop might have them but not likely.

The front right passenger door wont open from outside

This is almost always because a rod and clip have come apart. The rods that go from the handles to the mechanism are just under ¼" thick, and hve the last maybe 3/8" bent over at a 90º angle. That bent over part then goes through a hole in the mechanism for the rod to do its job. There is a plastic clip in the hole, which the rod end is pushed into. Then a little part off to the side of the plastic clip is clipped over the rod to hold the rod end in the hole.

When those clips get hard with age, they fracture, let go of the rod, and then the rod falls out of the hole in the mechanism.

The rods from the outside handle to the mechanism are pretty short, and are hard to see. They are rather hidden by the mechanism itself.

Make sure the window is up so the glass doesn’t get in the way. You might need a dental mirror to see what’s going on. (They sell that type of thing, but bigger than what the dentist puts in your mouth, at auto parts stores.) You might be able to get a good look with a hand-held mirror.

If you need a flashlight, put the flashlight by your ear, and point it at the mirror to bounce the light off the mirror to what it is that you are trying to see. Once you have seen what you need to do, you will probably need to do the actual repair by sense of touch.

Don't do this on grass. If you are trying to install the clip and you drop it, it can hide really well in grass.

Passanger door wont lock

possibly- you will need to take off the door panel. Look all around the panel for screws securing the panel. Usually the are near the door inside handle and securing the armrest. also check around the outside edges sometimes there are screws there too. Once the panel is off with the window up you can carefully pull off the plastic seal and see the door outer hadle and lock cylinder. These are attached by rods to the latch assembly. Make sure nothing is obstructing the movement of these. It is possible for the rod to come loose in which case you need to replace it and snop a small conector that holds the rod. the rods are l shaped on the ends - the end goes into the connector and then it spins around and snaps onto the rod.If this helps please reply and good luck

Chevy suburban 1994 door lock does not work. hear clicking sound going up and down

You will have to take the door panel off. There you will find some plastic, remove that.
Now inside the door you will see the electric door lock solenoid.
Follow it to a small round steel rod.
Look to the door latch, and you will see where the rod fell off.
There is a small little clip that you will need to find, or it may have broken.
Most auto parts stores will have the part.
Please let me know how it goes.

The lock on my front driver door will not unlock with power locks the rest the door will not even open when i attempt to open from the inside i tried unlocking it with the key but it made a sounds like...

You will need to remove the inside door trim panel and check the three (3) rods and plastic connectors that connect:
(a) the inside door handle to the door mechanism
(b) the inside door lock knob/outside key lock cylinder to the door mechanism
(c) the outside door handle to door mechanism.

Most likely one (or more) of these rods have either become loose or the plastic lock clips have broken.
The "L" end of the rod goes thru the hole of the clip and the clip has a pivoting "U" shape that goes over and locks onto the rod.
Based on the your year (2000) it might be a good idea to remove all clips and rods; and remove the entire door mechanism. Inspect, clean, lubricate, and re-install it.

Dw788 scroll saw knocking/vibration sound

http://www.scrollsaws.com/SawReviews/DewltTuneUp.htm is a link to a possible solution on scrollsaws.com

It did not fix my problem. My problem is in the "CON ROD ASSY" (part #82) and I found VERY TINY almost microscopic play in the bearing. I took the assembly apart, put it back togerther SEVERAL times and on my last ditch effort, it solved the knocking noise.... I don't think it will last long and probaby just have to replace the part or try to buy the same type bearing for cheap and press it in without damaging it so I don't have to get ripped off on the high dollar Dewalt part.

Need to reassemble the D.E. filter

All D.E. filters are basically the same. There are two plastic manifolds. One attaches to the bottom of tank by threads or bolts. The other plastic manifold goes on top, and ussually has small holes in this manifold for stainless rods to run through. All fabic looking materials(grids) run between bottom manifold, and top manifold. All grids must be washed free ofD.E.(diatomacus earth). Place bottom manifold on solid ground and begin plugging grids into large holes in manifold so they form a circle, this sometimes takes two people. Place top manifold on other end of grids in a simular fashion.Gently turn assembled filter to its side while holding together, and run ss rods through small
holes in bottom manifold, i n between grids , and through small holes in top manifold. Secure rods with ss washer and nuts, until snug but not overtightened.

My lg washer is flashing a dE message when i try to start a load

Mine is also. The metal latch on mine is loose & not fitting in the closing part properly. I took it apart & can make it work manuelly, but can't get it stiff enough to fit correctly. I hope to find how the latch fits on the door properly (need a manuel that shows it) to make it work. As of now it looks like we will have to get a new door with that part on it. When I get it to work (a few days) I will post another solution. [email protected]
