The most common problem is the flame sensor located just behind the fire chamber, about two inches long in a round rubber boot with two wires. you can get one from mr. heater for about 3 bucks. the wires are a different color but all you have to do is splice them to your old wires. it doesn't matter how you connect them.

Sime boiler pilot light

Sounds like an old boiler. It is not on timer and has to be lit manually. Push in the gas button and hold and push the sprung ingnition button to greate spark. Continue to hold in gas button 1-2 mins and release. The pilot light should then stay on. The flame will have heated the sensor in the combustion chamber and the boiler thinks that there is a flame and will allow the main gas jets to light when demanded . If the flame does not stay on clean the sensor prongs with emery cloth but do wait until they are cooled. You have open up the combustion chamber for access
The 1-2 mins above varies

My all-pro propane heater will not stay lit for over thirty seconds after I release the red fuel start button, before the flame goes out it makes an air hissing noise right before it shuts off.Heater will...

This sounds like a problem with your thermocouple.

Just remove the end of the thermocouple from where is goes into the gas valve and leave the end that goes into the flame in place.

Clean the end of the thermocouple connect by scraping off just a little metal from the end just about there the nut tightens the thermocouple into the gas valve. After you have exposed some new metal do the same inside the valve where the thermocouple seats into the gas valve.
Use a small pic or similar item to scrape inside the gas valve to expose some new metal there also.

Now reassemble the thermocouple into the gas valve and see if the heater works.

Here is a link with some more instructions.

If this does not solve the problem you may need a new thermocouple and you can find that at www.desaparts.com

Pilot don't stay lit after the gas control knob is release.

Hi,
The thermocouple is bad and you will have to replace it...
The thermocouple is the thing that sticks up in the flame to sense that the flame is on... if it goes bad the pilot flame will not stay lit when you release the button...

Heater won't stay lit after releasing yellow button

you need to replace the thermocouple at the burner tip it will be a copper line with a bulb in the flame tip with a copper tube leading back to the gas valve and it senses the flame and keeps the gas valve open
