Continually Losing Signal with Netflix Roku Player

Hi,

Recently purchased the Netflix Roku player with a Netgear Wireless Router. After initial setup, played well for awhile, then lost picture every 5 min. or so. Roku suggested disabling the firewall in the router which I did not want to do for obvious reasons but I eventually tried. It did nothing to correct the problem. Netflix suggested pulling the plug on the router for 10 seconds. That worked once, never again. Odd thing is I don't always lose the picture but it does happen every few days. I have even tried going to the config. page and reinserting all pertinent info. Again, that worked once, and only once. Any tips would be greatly appreciated. This is frustrating to say the least.

Many thanks...

When playing a movie on netflex it keeps on loading

That Roku box you are using is very old so netflix may not be supported anymore. It also could be your internet connection it could be to slow to connect to netflix if so you may won't to try to connect your Roku player directy into your router or moden with a inthernet cable if possible If you are using wifi you may have to move the Roku as close to the Router as possible maybe its not getting a strong signal. One thing to is that if multiple people are on the internet at the same time it can slow down the internet.

Hello
Just follow these steps:
1.Enter the correct name for your wireless network.
    2.Enter the password correctly.
3.Check to see that your router is working properly.
    4.Improve the wireless signal strength.
5.Restart your Roku device and your router.
a)To restart your Roku player, go to Settings > System > System restart. You can also unplug the Roku device from the power source, wait a few moments, and then plug it back in.
b)To restart your router, check the instructions from your ISP or router vendor. In some cases, you can simply unplug it and plug it back in, and in other cases it may require pressing a reset button on the device.

Ican not get signal from my roku

**You can skip this if your Roku player is wired to your router with an Ethernet cable.

If you are connected using wireless networking, check that the signal strength is at least "good".

To check your wireless signal:

1. From the Home screen, go to Settings>network and see what is displayed for "Signal strength"

2. If it is "good" or "excellent" you should be all set

3. If it is "fair" or "poor", follow the next steps

4. Move the placement of your Roku player and/or your wireless router to improve the signal quality

- The Roku player should not be recessed within a media cabinet, instead it should exposed in the open if possible
- Try changing the direction the Roku player faces, you may have to experiment with various spots for optimal signal

5. Run repeat guided setup and note the dark bands above your wireless router name. This gives a visual indication of the signal quality.

How do I stream netflix to my t.v. using my netgear router

If your TV has a Netflix app installed, you simply need to connect your TV to the network either with an ethernet cable or wirelessly.

If your TV does not have internet connectivity, you must connect a device that allows you to stream Netflix (like a PS3, Wii, Roku, Blu-ray player or even a laptop). That device must connected to your home router (wired or wirelessly).

Connect the modem to the router and the router to the roku player(wired/wireless)

Restart the roku player and check if you are able to see the welcome screen
If yes configure the settings on the player
Choose the network type,if wireless enter the security mode after connecting to the network
Then link the roku player and then activate your netflix account

If No then change the input on the television using the television remote

Then proceed as mentioned above
