You must first understand the problem on your own before you can do it on the calculator.
Calculate the difference in populations 240 000 -206 000
Calculate the time difference 2010-2000.
Divide the difference between populations by the difference in years.
Multiply the result by 100 % if you want a percentage value.

How do I enter exponential growth or decay functions and their shifts?

The formula for exponential growth and exponential decay is

A =I (1 + r)^n, where A is the amount, I is the initial amount, r is the rate of exponential growth or decay and n is the number of periods.

For example, if we start with 100 units and the growth is 5% per period, we get the equation A = 100 (1+0.5) ^n. When n is 0, anything to the exponent 0 is 1, so we start with 100 units. When n is 1, we get 105 units.

Similarly, if a car costing $50,000 depreciates in value 30% per year, we have A= 50000 (1-0.3)^n, Again, when n = 0, anything to the power of 0 is 1, so we start at $50,000. When n=1, A = 35,000. When n = 2, A = $24,500.

Good luck,

Paul

Resultant rate calculation

There is no 'resultant rate' as it changes every period. Assuming the period for each deposit is 1 year, the growth is as follows-

The initial population of a town 2800, and it grows with doubling time of 10 years. What wil the population be in 12 years

The population doubles in ten years so the annual growth is the tenth root of two. The growth in twelve years is the annual growth rate raised to the twelfth power.

The tenth root of two is about 1.0718 . That value raised to the twelfth power is about 2.2974 . Multiplied by the initial population of 2800 gives 6433.

What this problem has to do with a printer, I have no idea.

Use Casio fx570ms to calculate growth rate between two periods

Usually, population changes are not linear, but since you give only two points (2000, 206 000) and (2010, 240 000) that is all you can calculate. The average growth rate is given by the rise over run.
Growth Rate=(240 000-206 000)/(2010-2000)=34 000/10

Excel argument

If I understand correctly, you want to figure the normal wages at 40 hours and less. If there is more then 40 hours, calculate the normal 40 hours, then calculate the hours overtime (time and a half) and add them to get a total.

B5 columns are filled with this:
=IF(A5>$B$1,($B$2*$B$1)+((A5-$B$1)*($B$3)),A5*$B$2)

NOTE: The $ sign doesn't refer to money, it refers to an absolute reference so when copying a formula, the cell references with a $ sign are fixed and don't adjust according to the relative position to where it's being pasted.
