Recieving no digital channels in my LCD TV

Recently the built-in freeview in my tv appears not to be working, I do not recieve digital channels anymore! However when connecting the tv via a freeview box I do recieve the digital channels! I was told this a common problem with toshiba TVs and by upgrading the system via software should resolve the problem. Is this something I can do myself?

Analogue signal OK. No Digital. Cannot access setup menu, it flashes on the screen momentarily then disappears.

Hi there alot of the updates for the system should automaticly download via ariel to the tv to keep you up to date some times if the strenght of the signal isnt srong enough then you might not get the update they send out , one thing i have found is that if you use an ariel booster then this makes the signal stronger this helps particularly if you have more than one tv set up with the same ariel, you could try unpluging all ariels to other tvs making sure the ariel lead you are using has no conections in it as this also gives you loss of signal if there are multiple conections in the lead runing from the ariel to your tv set hope this helps some

Cheers ;)

Hyperband
In the service channel network, the frequency used for distributing TV stations (300 - 470 MHz). It is the range of choice for digital transmissions according to DVB-C.

Hi, I live in a flat in London with a shared rooftop aerial (no idea of spec). I have a Sony KDL-46X2000. The built-in freeview tuner doesn't seem to recieve any HD channels. Is the built-in tuner the...

Make sure you have a good connection from antenna to TV. Check antenna and cable and cable connection to TV. Select DIGITAL button on TV remote when wanting HD channels. Remember HD channels are always digital. Also, any given TV station may not be broadcasting in HD at a given time. They can broadcast in digital but in standard definition sometimes. Your TV has a built-in DVB-T tuner. Try executing a channel scan to pick up all available channels. On-screen menus go to Digital Setup, then Digital Tuning, you can auto-tune or manual tune channels. The TV should take a few min. to scan thru available channels and store the channels its finds. Check with anyone in your area to see if they get HD channels (it is possible to be outside of the range of some TV stations) Your TV is a 2006 model and should still be compatible with local digital TV broadcasts but keep in mind digital signals could change in the near future (DVB-T2) and you may need a tuner/converter box to make the TV compatible.

Built in freeview doesn't work but digibox does

Have you done a channel search on both tv sources(atv and dtv). most new tv's will automatically start will "New Install". If you havent had a digital installed recently then this could the problem. set top boxes and TV's will pick up the signal ok but others wont.
