Black streaks all over copy

The line is probably not from the ink cartridges or nozzles (assuming regular printing doesn't streak). Streaks on copies and transmitted faxes are usually due to dirt or problems on the scanner unit. First clean the flat bed of the scanne. If you have an automatic document feeder, clean that.

Clean with a lint free cloth moistened with a little water or glass cleaner. Make sure no foreign objects are in the ADF path or on the glass. Then enter "streak on copy" - the solution comes up in a pop up.

If the streak is shrinking, then copy a blank white piece of paper to identify where to clean further. Try scanning another page with a small mark on it. (These are particularly helpful for cleaning the ADF.)

If the mark occurs when you print, then check if you have a damaged cartridge or other ink that has spilled inside the printer.

If this started after cartridge was replaced, then it is probably defective.

Take the cartridge out and take a look at the print head. Clean the print head.
Put the cartridge back in
Try and feed paper (not printing anything on it, if you can not get it to just feed paper, print a blank page) and see if it still has lines. If so, you are probably going to have to clean ink from inside the paper feed area. If not, try using it for a while and if it starts again, get a replacement cartridge. You might want to save some of the bad prints to show the clerk and try to get the new cartridge under warranty.

You mentioned when you copy.
If you just have it print with out doig a copy (like have it print an internal report or what ever) does it do the same thing?
If it does (and I'm assuming that this is a laser printer) change the toner cartridge.
If it doesn't, then there is something on the glass area that is causing the streak. Clean the glass with vinegar and water solution (not sopping wet, just damp on the rag) and dry. Test again.

This is a fairly common problem. More common when you use junk cartridges from printcountry.com.

1) you will need some cotton swabs, isopropyl alcohol and "canned air" or any pressurized computer cleaner.
2) lift up the top console while the unit is on and wait for the cartridges to reset to the center position.
3)Release the grey lock on the LH side of the cartridges and remove cartridges.
4) take alcohol soaked swabs and clean bottom of ports and nozzles.
5) blow out with air.
6) go into program and run clean and align programs. (if you don't have them go to google and type canon mp830 support)
7) retest.
8) if this doesn't work, give to someone you hate or throw out window.
