Several months ago, the ice dispenser would intermittently dispense crushed ice. Now, it's all crushed. What needs to be replaced? Thank you!!
Remove the dispenser bucket where the ice drops into inside the freezer and get a Tupper ware bowl,remove the bucket and dump this ice into the bowl,then rinse with the dispenser bucket with warm tap water to melt any ice on each end of this ice maker,then wipe dry and replace into freezer where you removed it to get cold again and leave empty till the next harvest of ice,this can be normal on some units after so many weeks,as it will not let the blades retract so as just to dispense only cubes,once bucket is cleaned of ice jams the solenoid and blades will again retract for cubes only

You may not need to replace the solenoid. If you hear the hum, and not a loud click and don't see then rod move, it may be frozen with ice. Test it manually with your hand, it should be free to move up and down. If not, then it is frozen with ice. Remove the ice dispenser and let it thaw and dry out. You should then be able to move to rod and it will work fine, at least until it freezes again. Anyone know how to prevent it from freezing up? Its a continual problem for me

Very problematic issue with this model .Try unplugging and plugging the fridgerator which resets the board.The board is located on top under a removeable panel where the power cord enters....there is a reset/diagnostic button on the board itself.Contact LGUSA.com for any possible warranty and complain like crazy to avoid spending $300 on this board which can be purchased from andrewselectronics.com who is a factory authorized parts provider.Keeping that ice maker going will make you pull your hair out which is unfortuante for such a stylish and expensive fridge.good luck

I have a GE TFX25ppbaaa refrigerator. The ice maker corkscrew motor would run and provide crushed ice only. The corkscrew motor would not run when the switch was moved to the cubed ice ( half moon) setting.
I replaced the large Light/ water/ crushed ice/cubed ice switch , ( product service number GEH WR55X129 ) ( part number GE 162D6372 PO17 )and it fixed the problem. Cost was about $43.00.

You have a solenoid switch which switches the dispenser back and forth from crushed to cube. It could be stuck or not working or the parts connecting it could be disconnected or broken. You will have to observe to see if any parts are moving and if any noise is coming from the solenoid
