KAC-9102d no sound, Amp powers on but no sound to the subs.

Evreything worked fine turned off car 5 mins later turned it back on and subs stopped working. Can't get them to turn back on. I unpluged everything from the amp and let it sit over night to reset protect mode and still dosen't work.

No Poping noises when I plug the RCAs in. The amp powers on correctly all wiring is correct I have a second amp hooked to same source that is working. I assume I blew the channels in the amp or my speaker. I'm wondering if there is a way to reset the protection mode or if it dose it by itself. I am still hunting down a second sub to test the channels.

Do you receive a popping noise when you plug back in the RCA cables? Do you still have power to your amp?

Have you checked all your fuses and all your wiring and wiring harness?

If the sub isn't working, you won't get a pop. All you need is a small speaker. Don't need a sub, you just want to test the sound. I recently blew 2 subs, no smoke, no smell, no sign of being blown. Absolutely nothing from the subs.... In the past my sub locked up. You can take your sub out of the box and hook the + and - to the battery to see if you can get the sub to pop there. I believe a small box will push a sub into a deep excursion to the center of the cone. I have 2 lanzar VW12D's that just quit. I hooked a 6 x 9 up to my amp and low and behold I had sound! Try that and see what you get...

How do I wire two subs up for the full 850 rms on a kac-9102d amp

  • Wire up two 4 Ohm subs in parallel (bridged) or one 2 Ohm sub.

  • You will take both of your subs positive leads and run them to the left positive (white connector on the amp) and both of your subs negative leads and run them both to the right negative (gray and black connector on the amp). That's max RMS right there. Pay attention to the Ohm rating of your subs as this does play a factor. What I explained is how to bridge two 4 Ohm subs. 8 Ohm is a little different but car subs rarely are 8 Ohm.

I have a kenwood kac-9152d amplifer and it works just fine for about 10 minutes then just shuts off and subs dont work, about 30 seconds later my amp turns back on with the subs.

make sure it's well ventilated. If there's no air flow, then there is no way of cooling down and to protect itself it will shut off. Make sure the speakers are wired correctly as per amp specs. too many subs or subs connected improperly can draw too much current and shut the amp off, but you will notice this when you turn up the volume to a certain point and the amp shuts down.

Amp goes dirctly into protect

ok well it could be two thing wrong your amp dont have a good ground or your amp is a smar amp and your subs must have to be hooked up so the power from the amp cn go to the subs so the amp can see that you do have subs hooked up to take it out of protect o and look at your fuses to to smal or to big will send it to protect to

Install my Kenwood KAC-9102D in my 2006 Acura RSX Type S

You will probably need to use a Line Output Converter (LOC). They're available at virtually any shop that sells car audio.

Many times, the outputs of the OEM amplifier will have significant DC voltage on them. This could damage the input circuits on the kenwood amplifier.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

How to install kenwood kac-9102d in 2006 acura rsx

My recommendation is to get a line level converter. Go to a car audio shop or even best buy and specifically ask for a line level converter. It will have speaker wires in and RCAs out. Connect the speaker wires to the sub woofer speaker wires and then you will have the RCAs to run to your amp. I hope this helped.
