Cannot get the fridge to start cooling

Its a GE french door fridge, model number GFSS6KKXSS
i cannot set the temp of the fridge, it appears like it is stuck in demo mode, when the new temp is set the electronic dial reads OF instead of a temp...
any help would be appreciated as LOWES isnt being very helpful (you know, cuz they already have my money, why should it be their problem now??)

If the panel temperature reads 0 F 0 F it is in the "DEMO" mode. This is normal if you purchase a floor model. To bring it back to normal mode press ENERGY SAVER & ADJUST FREEZER together for 3 to 5 seconds until it beeps. Then unplug the referidgerator for at least 30 seconds. Then plug it bck in. That will reset the stupid computer and get it back to normal operation.

Have the same refrig and its new out of the box and when i plugged it in the display is giving me an error code (op er). Is there a quick fix for this?

Turn on fridge
Press the Ice Off button and the Freezer button together for thirty seconds. Set your temps at 36 for refrigerator and 0 for freezer.

if that doesn't work, press the freezer button and the energy saver button for thirty seconds and do the same thing.

Digital display is blank in GE Profile fridge
Hi. Its either a bad motherboard or control board. I would check the control board for any obvious signs of damage to the board first. I've seen the control board go blank on the GE side by side and it turned out to be the motherboard. The motherboard is located behind a cover on the back of your refrigerator cabinet. You should have a new motherboard on hand at all times because they fail alot. Be sure to put a surge protector on your refrigerator. Good Luck, Mack
