If your pc tells you the sd card is infected it means you have an AntiVirus running. You can use it to remove the virus by SCANNING the card.

You can also get rid of the virus by FORMATTING the card using the camera. The Format option (NOT EARASE) is usualy found in the settings menu. But beware, you will lose all the pictures as well.

Free online virus removal

You don't want to use an online virus removal site unless you want a really bad virus and give them every bit of information you have on your computer. Bad idea.

I have a 2gb micro sd memory card in my phone. I plugged it in with an usb adapter to a computer to upload some photos from it when I noticed a virus on it. I deleted the virus, and apparently with it some...

On some SD cards there is a program you can run. This will allow the PC to see the SD card files. The autorun.exe file may have been that file or it pointed to another directory. Typically you only need a smart card reader to see the files. if the PC can not access any of the data as stated. Plus a virus.... the data may well be corrupted.

However if corruption by a virus has occurred this utility may allow you to recover those images.

Supposed to be free.

Please be careful if you use this file.
Scan it for viri just like you did with the SD Micro card.
I have not used this program but welcome any reports of success.
Who knows, it may very well help others and myself in the future.

Good luck!

Cannot downlad photos to my computer from sd card in camera.

there is a facility on every anti-virus soft ware to stop the antivirus activity for some time , right click the icon on the desk top , and you will find the option
or exit the viral activity softwware from the system tray by clicking on exit. then you can download the pictures.
also if the name of the virus is given see up more details on the web site of that antivirus software and see exactly what harm the virus can do. also a online virus removal facility is given on many soft wares.

Unable to view pics

Copy the existing photos on to your PC, switch off the camera. Remove the SD card and format the SD-card using a SD-card reader, this will clear all the card contents. Now try using it in your Camera again. Ideally, you should be able to save photos on this SD card. Other way would be to insert another SD card into your camera and click photos and check whether those photos are being saved into the SD card(this can be done using display option in your digicam.)

Infected SD Card? or Computer?

This can happen when the card is removed when Windows is still accessing it. Even when you think you are not doing something, Windows could be. I am 99% certain there is nothing malicious on your system and the cause was early ejection.

To prevent this from happening next time, before removing the SD card try using the "Safely Remove Hardware" tray icon to safely remove your device. TIP: Do not remove any storage device (i.e. SD Card, Flash drive, etc.) if the light is blinking.

Happy computing!
