i have a ricoh aficio 1515MF printer. the computer detects the printer well but when i print any document an error log prints and keeps on printing till I turn the power off.

Sounds like the wrong driver. Get the PCL5 driver for your model model from ricoh-usa.com. In a pinch use the HP 4 driver, it will get you basic printing.
Try using the RPCS (Ricoh's proprietary print driver) for printing from Word, and see if that works any better. You could also try another version of PCL -- if you're using PCL6, try PCL5, for example.

Press the printer button, it will tell you on the screen what the problem is. Generally it is because your computer is telling the printer that it wants to print on a size paper that you don't have loaded in the machine.

put all the settings back to where the were set
the printout will show you default and current settings
This is a message on your PC...not the machine itself obviously? Was this scanner ever configured to work on your PC? If not, then follow this link to my comments to someone else about this machine:
use an updated driver version for this machine on ricoh-support.com, another solution is using pcl5 driver as this one does spooling at computer and not machine...
