SOURCE: push power protector

I brought the unit to an authorized Sony repair depot and they concluded that all the power transistors were fried. They replaced the system board under warranty (at no charge) and the system has functioned perfectly since. Thanks for your help. -Steve.

SOURCE: Sony DVD Home Theater System remote control code

I have the same system and one of my dogs got to the remote. I have a philips PMDVR8/PDVR8 universal remote. I was able to get the dav-hdx265 to turn on/off and do volume up and down by using code 0200. I have not been able to get the DVD functionality to work yet, but I will post if I do.

SOURCE: protect

The protect message indicates a problem was found inside the amplifier. The output transistors are most likely shorted and need to be replaced. This is a fairly simple repair and should cost about $40 in parts plus your local labor charge.

SOURCE: sony home theater system started blinking protect

Protect mode will kicking whenever a fault is detected.

Causes that can start protect mode are:

Electrostatic harges on internal circuits.
Leave the unit unplugged for power for one hour or so, this will allow discharge.

Bad speaker wiring.
Check speaker wiring, try unplugging and plugging back, or start after removing one speaker at the time.

Internal fault.
Internal fault is the natural cause for protect mode. If all the above did not work, then the problem is a blown component or an internal fault. In this case the unit must be taken apart , tested and repaired by an experienced person.
If the unit is less than one year old, or if you want to get service, call Sony at the phone number listed on the product documentation.

Regards.

Push power protector appeared on my Sony TZ200 home theater system how do i fix?

Disconnect all the speakers, and check. If it exhibit the same fault, the main power amp section circuit inside it is faulty. if it do not show protect, check all the speakers; by connecting one at a time; and make sure which one is faulty; and replace it. MY SONY HBD-DZ810 HOME THEATER IS CONSTANTLY SHOWING PUSH POWER PROTECTOR

The "PROTECT" and "PUSH POWER" messages will flash alternately when the protective device of the amplifier has been activated because a strong signal was input, or if there is a short-circuit detected. Press the POWER button on the unit to turn off the system, and check the following items after "STANDBY" disappears.

1) Are the + and - speaker cords short-circuited?
2) Are you using only the specified speakers?.
3) Is anything blocking the ventilation holes of the system?

My home theater system is showing push power protector on the read out and nothing is happening.

Push power protect is an error message that shows unit got some problem in output amplifier section and protection circuit is activated to avoid further damage.
Local tv repair shop will help you to fix it as unit will take apart and soldering work is also involved to replace bad amplifier output chips.
