Should I put powder detergent in the tray or in the drum in my Asko front load washer?

I bought my Asko front load washer and dryer set used and it didn't come with the manual. I would like to know how to use powdered detergent for this particular machine, do I put the powder detergent in the tray like I do for liquid or should I put it right into the drum before adding my clothes?

In the tray, there might be a separator for liquid detergent, that can be turned up side down or taken out completely to allow the powder to wash down. Powder detergent is much better for front load washers as they produce less suds. Don't use too much, a front load washer (high efficiency) uses much less water and thus needs less detergent

What is the partion insert for the washing powder container for?

Hi,

Welcome to FixYa.

That is the Liquid detergent partition...P/N 8061633. ( part number )

**This from ASKO...

Because ASKO washers use less water than conventional top-loading washers, you need less detergent and fabric softener. We recommend that you use a low-sudsing powder detergent only, preferably a high-efficiency (HE) detergent designed specifically for front-loading washers.

**(Liquid detergents tend to suds more, which make them more difficult to rinse out.)**

Detergent - The amount of detergent needed varies, depending on the detergent you use. For high-efficiency detergent specifically for front-loading washers, you should use the amounts recommended by the manufacturer.

Also, the amount of detergent needed can vary due to differences in water hardness. (Refer to the Use and Care Guide for more details.) If you choose to use a liquid detergent, start out with a very small amount, such as one or two tablespoons.

Hope that answers your question, let me know please. Thanks for choosing FixYa for your repair solutions today. Let me know if you need further assistance.

Good luck.

Where to put the powder detergent in the washer? how come did not dissolved?

Chances are that the washer is a front load. If it is it requires liquid detergent. If you want to use powder put it in with the clothes and not in the top detergent well.

Hope that clears things up.

Detergent will not dispense

generaly the detergent tray has a "gate" that needs to be moved to the top position for powder. (up for powder, down for liquid). This is the generic answer. if you verify the model number or list the model of your unit I will attempt to locate a users guide for you.

Please take the time to give this solution a fix ya rating

Bosch axxis washing machine detergent symbols

There are usually 3 compartments in the drawer, the smallest is for using fabric conditioner, the largest is where you put the powder or detergent in, the middle size one you do not put anything in, as it is where the cold water comes in for rinsing.
Plz rate my solution.
Thanks.

Neptune stackable washer...

I went to Sears today and asked!  They said use high efficiency detergent (marked HE on the label) and put it directly in the washer with the clothes.  Mystery solved!

Soap

As you look at the despenser drawer it has 3 chambers. The left chamber is for Prewash detergent, middle for Fabric conditioner, right is for Liquid or powder detergent. Or use a plastic ball in the main drum!

Water leaking through soap dispenser drawer

OLDFIXER was exactly right ! I had water gushing out of my LIQUID detergent tray. I removed the tray by pushing down on the flexible tab at the back of the tray and when I had the tray out I discovered A LARGE AMOUNT OF DAMP powder detergent caked up on the inside. I removed it all and sprayed some hot water inside AND ITS COMPLETELY FIXED !!! GOD BLESS OLD FIXER.
