SOURCE: do the brother xl 5340

Hi
Manuals for Brother machines are available from the Brother site.
http://www.brother-usa.com/ModelDocuments/Consumer/Users%20Manual/UM_XL_5130_5232_5340_EN_208.PDF
Not sure about getting a ruffler, perhaps you could try ebay for small specialised items like this?

Hope this helps!

SOURCE: Problem with brother SE400

there may not be any stuck,, but there is an internal problem with the machine
try turning it off & wait a couple of seconds then turn it back on & see if that will clear the machine, it not then it's very possible the safety is jammed or a part has messed up inside.
it would need to be serviced

Is singer7470 a low shank

Yes, the Singer 7470 (Companion or Confidence) is a low shank machine with snap-on feet. The replacement presser foot shank is https://www.sewingpartsonline.com/presser-foot-shank-babylock-brother-xe2555101.aspx .

I hope this helps.

Is the brother pacesetter 701 a high shank or low shank machine

When presser foot is down, measure the distance from the bottom of foot to screw-hole that holds the foot onto the presser bar.
  1. Singer slant is for slant needle machine only.
  2. A high shank machine measures approximately 1 1/4" from the screw to the bottom of the foot.

Is it a low shank machine and whether all low shank feet will fit the machine?

Not all low shank fit low shank. the max. stitch width usually 5mm - 7mm needle opening also makes a diff. Best to order feet for your particular mode. Check out www.sewingpartsonline.com it's a great site and easy to navigate

Have brother sewing machine sc9500. Need invisible zipper foot. Don't know which kind to get.

My invisible zipper foot is a plastic generic one which was describd as being "low shank" and it works fine on three different Elnas I own.

I would have thought your machine was a low shank style too, there is a fair bit of similarity between feet with low shank clip on style. So if your feet clip on and off the shank, then you should be able to clip on another type of foot too.

if you try this link http://www.sewingpartsonline.com/sewing-machine-presser-feet.aspx

then go through to the page for the foot attachment system that looks like yours you might be able to establish which one you need. THere is a brother high shank invisble foot listed, and an alternative part number. I jcan't see a Brother SC9500 machine listed so you might need to do a bit of elimination.

You could also email sewingpartsonline.com and ask them to help you identify the right foot.

Ruffler for viking 1050

The available ruffler is a generic part. But, it is made for most Low Shank machines. ANd no, you can not change the shank from high to low. Doing that or attempting to do that will not allow the needle to go all the way down as it would set for a high shank.

Attaching walking foot

you probably purchased the incorrect walking foot for your specific machine. check and make sure if you have a high shank or a low shank....the way to determine if you have a low-shank is to measure the screw from the plate and look at the distance if it is 5/8 then you have a low, any higher about 1in. then you have a high shank, so you would purchase a foot depending on your shank.
