I don't know how to set the time.
What is DST?
And the alarm keeps going off inspite of my turning it off.
Can you help?
This machine is driving me crazy.
Here is a link to the manual http://www.docs.sony.com/release/ICFC318.pdf

Press and hold down the clock button until it beeps. The first numbers to come up are the years last two digits, use the -+ buttons to adjust if necessary. Press the clock button once quickly and it brings up two more sets of numbers, these are the month and day. Adjust if necessary then press the clock button once quickly. The next thing that comes up is the time. It is now adjustable with the -+ buttons. The time doesn't flash or anything to tell you that you can set it but you can! Then press the clock button once more to save the time.
Do not allow more than 60 seconds to go by or you will have to start over.
Thanks. Electrician changed circuit board / fuse box for the whole house today, and I returned home to find all the numbers blinking at "12:00". Yikes. Lost the manual yolks ago and have to set alarm for morning, but a real pain to have to subtract time-now from real-time future desired alarm time, then add those hours and minutes to 12:00 AM, and repeat process every day until I can set the clock to my wristwatch time. Two questions: (1) You said that after the date is set, one can set the time, and "the time doesn't flash or anything to tell you that you can set it but you can!" When I followed your directions, the numbers Did Flash, so I touched clock button once more, thinking I hadn't followed your suggestions, and the time did stop flashing; but then the + and - buttons did nothing, and the time was stuck at a non-flashing 12:00 AM. So I hit clock button again, pushed +until the time matched y watch, and then hit clock button again. Then all was well. It took longer than 60 seconds though, but sin I didn't start over again except to set time of day, maybe the month and day are no longer set correctly. (2) I didn't know before tonight the clock allowed you to set month and day and year; but why does it matter to me -- or matter to the clock's functions -- that the clock "knows" what the current date is? When the clock is set, the face plate doesn't read out the date, like my watch does. What am I failing to grasp?
OMG - thank you, thank you, thank you. I use it as my alarm clock and somehow unplugged it and was pulling out my hair trying to figur out how to reset the time. Thank you for your simple, easy to follow instructions!
Thanks. I'm so glad that I have found you.

Hi!
DST is daylight saving time. When Daylight Savings Time changes take place in the spring and fall each year, there is no need to adjust the clock because the built-in calendar recognizes the dates and automatically makes the proper time adjustments.
For more details and how to adjust these settings see the manual from the link below--

cannot reset DST to the correct time...
To set the Dream Machine by Sony Model ICF-C414 ... just hold down the button marked "time" for 2 or 3 seconds, then the Time Zone will say 7.. but I just ignore that and press the time button to get to the day and month and press the button again for time... be sure to set it to am or pm... and just press the time button again it will beep twice and you're done... (be sure to double check Daylight savings time, there's a button for that..) The clock should set itself if the batteries and everything are good...
I tried to take the batterie off but still not working.
i tried to set the round dream machine clock/cd/radio/and instructions and im frustrated
