Have you tried to reset the camera to the factory defaults? To do this: have the camera in shooting mode - go to Menu - left arrow to reset - press ok - Highlight Yes and press ok. This will reset the camera to factory settings. See if flash works now.

Need to have date printed out on my photos with my olympus stylus 1030 sw camera

The date and time (and a lot more) are stored with every photo in its EXIF metadata. If you want this printed with the photo, please consult the documentation for whatever program you're using to print your photos. Depending on the program and printer, you may print the date/time on the image, in the margins, or on the back.

I need the drivers for windows 7 for the olympus 1030 sw. In fact, when I connect the camera, it doesn't install automatically, and I think there's no correct drivers in it.

I plugged my 1030sw into my computer and while it was recognized, I couldn't access the camera to download any of the pics. Even when I went to "My Computer", it didn't appear but Device Manager showed that it was plugged in and "working fine".
I unplugged the camera and plugged it back in. This time, I chose the "PC" option, then clicked "right arrow" and selected MTP option instead of Storage option and then I was able to extract my photos.
Hope that helps

My Olympus 1030sw is 8 months old and I took it

Well, getting it wet voided your warranty. Remove the battery and card...don't try to turn it on to avoid short circuits. You can try to bury it in some dry, uncooked rice for a couple of days. Water , especially salt water, is disastrous to cameras. The chance of it working are slim and even if it does for awhile, it may stop altogether later. Keep your fingers crossed.

Olympus Stylus 1030 SW display not working after being in water

I just had a similar problem. I am not sure how it was fixed, but it works again - at least for now.

I had the camera on and was taking pictures when the screen went dark. Same as you describe, it takes pictures, flash works, LED, works, everything but the display. I plugged it into my computer with the USB adapter to see if I can salvage what is on the card and the diplay lights up. Tried several variations, but when the cable is connected to the computer (didn't have to be connected to the computer) the screen worked. Unplug, no display. I spun the settings button a couple of times. I accidentally took a couple of short videos and pictures that I deleted. I unplugged the camera and powered down again (tried that before). Power up and the screen is fine.

Again I have no idea what fixed it or why the display worked with the cable plugged in. It might have been related to the videos or some setting that I had slipped into (thought the display button never worked or changed anything).

Hopefully something in there helps or someone can explain what I did.

Olympus sp 350

There is a "quick" button located on the back of the camera just for flashes. It is the first button to the right of the power button and it looks like a crooked lightning bolt arrow that points down. If you are in any picture taking mode, push this button and it will toggle you through each flash option, auto, red eye (eyeball symbol), flash (same symbol as the button, this mode will make the flash work everytime you take a picture), red eye and flash, and no flash (careful, in this mode you have to allow for the camera to focus, the lens will stay open a long time in a dark atmosphere -- if you don't hold the camera still you will get a blurry picture).

Redeye

Red-eye is actually caused by the light from the flash bouncing off the back of the retina and picking up the color red from the blood vessels. To correct this effect, follow these steps: Turn the mode dial to PlayBack Mode (green arrow) and display the image with redeye. Press OK\Menu button. Using the arrow pad, navigate to MODE MENU>EDIT>REDEYE FIX. Press the right arrow key, START will display. Press OK\Menu After {BUSY} bar displays, a screen will display with an option to cancel or save the image. ? If the option [Go] is displayed, press the OK\Menu button. This saves a corrected version of the image. ? If the option CANCEL is displayed, than the camera was unable to correct the image. Press the left arrow key to exit. This correction may not work on all pictures. If you import the original image into Olympus Master software you can also apply the Red-Eye fix located in the Edit menu. This lets you precisely pinpoint the eye area and remove the red. It even lets you remove green or blue, which can occur with animals.
