It sounds that the panel is faulty. A plain green screen denotes it. try to force on the tv un plug and use remote when tv iv completly off. and press display 5 vol+ then power and see if tv stays on and in service menu look for eror code .if tv stays on if it cutts off then one of lamp in screen is defective. its mean screen defective

try to reset tv from service menu sony service menu display 5 vol+ power from remote and see the reset menu and reset whole tv functions.

Main PCB is bad . I just got the information from a Sony authorize servicer price for the part only $504.87

In most cases, the main board might have to be replaced. If so, a software [firmware] update too might be necessary.
Before going further; try a hard reset first. If it does not help you, replace the main digital board. There are two methods to reset TVs. The first is simple to do; a Hard Reset. The other is somewhat skilled; is a Factory Reset (System Reset). To make it a hard reset, just unplug the TV from AC mains wall socket, and re-plug it back after 15 minutes or so. If you do this by overnight is better. This procedure will make it a hard reset. If you want to make it a system reset [Factory Reset]; you have to enter its service mode option, and select the factory reset option. If you wish to get some details; visit the site linked here.

If the green light stay's on but no picture, meaning black screen! Then you have a bad back light inverter. You can order this at www.shopjimmy.com, select sony then your model number.

If you are somewhat handy you could do it yourself! but it requirestaken tv fully apart. There are a lot of screws that should be baggedseparate as you go along. To ensure tv can be reassembled. follow thesesteps or have a expert do it!

1) remove shell (casing)
2) remove second layer, this will have your signal boards on it (a/v etc...)
3the back light inverter has a metal cover over it, with very tinyscrews. Also you will see multiple wire plugs going into it. Usuallywhite/pink or white/blue.

Press " i " (info) button on TV remote and on-screen display will disappear.

This seet should provide some diagnostic help. The standby light should be blinking a repeated count with a pause. Post that count here. Also, is there sound?

The above info will indicate the problem circuit which will then suggest the remedy.
