Device locked due to too many tries on patterns

If a more modern phone, log into her google account. If it identifies her device on the network, click the Lock button and use the Android Device Manager. If the device is not picked up by that device manager, try refreshing the page several times or press CTRL-F5.

If it is an older (4.4 or below) form of Android operating system, try the forgot pattern feature that appears if you fail 5 times to unlock the phone. An email is sent to her Google account with an unlock code.

Such avoids the hard reset method which returns the device to fresh bought (in the box) conditions which will require setting up the phone for her again and loss of changes since purchase.

If you know the email address that was used to register the device, you can try logging into the Gmail account associated with the phone. You can click on the "forgot password" link, and from there answer your security questions that you put in place. Once you reset the password, just make sure the device is connected to the internet, and try to log back in using the new password. If this still does not help, try taking it to a local carrier store, preferably a corporate location, and they may be able to help. You may need to initiate a master reset, and hope everything saved to the SD card in the phone, as a data transfer needs access to the phone, i.e. the screen unlocked.

SIM slots are usually accessed by removing the battery.If your Samsung is 3G enabled there will be an obvious printed icon of a SIM card just like phones have and a slot or pad for it to go.The icon will show the orientation of the SIM card also

If it's an android device...

2. Select "Forgot pattern" and enter your email account username and password.
3. Make sure you use the same account that was used to activate the device and double check the password by logging in to that email account in a browser.
4. If you don't have access to the original email account, you will need to do a hard reset and loose your settings and apps on the devcice. The data on the memory card will not be wiped though.
Note: if you can't remember your email password, you will have to visit the email service support page to get it reset.

You can buy a google account bypass from Ebay or learn how to install the factory operating system from a usb flash drive or SD card if there is SD card slot.
Try turning off the device, then hold the power and the Vol Up button, or the power and vol down button or the Power and both vol up and vol down to factory reset the device.
If you are still locked out, its so much easier to buy the google bypass but you will need to plug it into the computer after you purchase the bypass and download tinyURL program, which will all be explained after purchase. Google Account Bypass is around $5.00

First solution is to use Google account associated with mobile.You need to log in into your Google account and then you can disable or change the pattern lock.Internet (mobile data) on your mobile should be working otherwise you need access to WiFi to do that.If your mobile is not connecting with internet then you have to go for second solution.

Too Many Pattern Attempts
If WiFi or mobile data is Off on your mobile then you can't authenticate online to unlock your device.You can enable WiFi as well as mobile data by connecting your mobile with Android Debug Bridge (ADB). This method requires USB Debugging feature enabled which is under 'Developer options' of your device.
Second solution to overcome "Too Many Pattern Attempts" problem is to format the mobile device.You need to make hard reset of your mobile to overcome pattern lock problem.For most of the Android devices ,you can hard reset the device by pressing POWER + VOLUME + HOME button simultaneously.Please remember that all your data (images ,music files , videos and contacts saved in mobile ) will lost during hard reset and your phone will be restored to factory setting.

Third solution is to use desktop app.You need to know username and password of Google account associated with your mobile device.Name of the app is Screen Lock Bypass Pro. You can download it in Google store.Install this app on your device and you can bypass the pattern lock.

Hi, I have a couple of idea for you to try.
1) Log in to your google account on your pc, the same account you registered for your phone

2) After logging in look at the top right corner of your inbox/email page, it would say your google username. Like say if you name is John, and you have a google id thats registered to your galaxy s as , [email protected]. Now this google id on the top right corner of the page would be displayed as [email protected]

3) Type in the google id, thats visible on the right hand top corner of your page (like [email protected]) into your galaxy s handset locked page, and type in the password.

TADA AND YOUR ON TO THE NEW SCREEN TELLING YOU TO PUT IN ANOTHER PATTERN.
or theres this one:
Take out the battery, the sim card, and the SD card leave the phone for 2 to 3 hours like that.. Put everything back in and boot up the phone.. This should work.
You could try this instead of waiting 3 hours, just remove battery and press power on switch for 20 seconds but this may not work.
or if you've tried everything, the only other way would be to take it to a Samsung mobile phone shop.
or do a factory reset:
THIS WILL ERASE ALL YOUR DATA THOUGH
Go into recovery mode - vol up & home & power. Once in the menu, select factory reset.It may take you a couple of attempts to get to the recovery mode but it does work, just keep trying.

To unlock the pattern screen lock without signing in with your Google account You need to repair the software of the phone.


The steps to repair the phone are the following:

1. On the computer: Start PC Companion™.
2. On thecomputer: In the Support Zone™ descriptor, in the Software Updatesection click Start > (Repair) and follow the instructions on the PCmonitor screen.
3. Turn off the phone.
4. Connect the USB cable to your computer.
5. On the phone: Press and hold down Back key and connect the USB cable to the phone.
6. Follow the instructions on the screen.

Note : The software in your phone will be replaced. All personal data stored in your phone will be lost.

There is also a way to unlock the pattern screen lock by signing in with your Google account.

1. After 30 seconds, tap Forgot pattern?
2. You need to log in with the primary gmail.com e-mail address and not the alternative email address connected to the Google account.
3. Tap the username field and enter the primary Google account user name.
4. Tap the password field and enter the primary Google account password.
5. Draw a new unlock pattern and tap Continue .
6. Draw the new unlock pattern again and tap Continue .
