The coil they are referring to is the condenser coil, which will be located underneath, and can be accessed either by removing the toe plate in front, or by pulling the cabinet from the wall, removing the machine compartment cover by removing the screws. In both cases its best to use an appliance brush or lint brush available at any hardware store, these brushes are about 2' in length, and contain black plastic bristles, and of course, unplug your refrigerator before doing any maintenance. Remove the dust and pet hair from the condenser with the brush, then vacuum the brush clean and repeat.
if freexer is not cold enough . this causing low or no ice prod . so ck the fan under neath and clean the coils in back . if this does not correct problem . you may have a bad ice maker .. mm
there is a couple of things you can try. you can try to defrost the whole unit. it is not always a good idea to turn it up to the max setting. if the inner coils get frozen up it causes the problem you are having.
That fan is most likely on trying to defrost that frozen coil. It sounds like you may need a thermostat, a coil cleaning, and hopefully the system is not low on charge, those are 99% of the causes for a freezer, or refrigerator to freeze, hope all works out.
check the coils underneath the unit to be sure they are clean if they are clean then check the condenser fan motor behind the cardboard cover on the back of the refrig. the motor could be bad or has an obstructuction. good luck peyton
amana is having some problems with their compressors locking up. if the compressor is manuactured by tecumseh then tthe compressor is mostlikely locked up and will need replacing. good news is your refrig is most likely less than years old and should be in warranty to amana..
