Details I record drum/ bass and synth loops into logic and then send them to the rc50 loop pedal, i had 50 seconds of recording time left so i added a new track which left me 25 seconds of recording time, only for the loop pedal to tell me i had run out of recording time, i took another track out to make more room only for the loop pedal to tell me there is STILL no memory left, if i reset the loop pedal by taking all the tracks out to reset it, will that work to gather all the memory up and give me 200MB back again. Or is there any way i can add more memory to the rc50 loop pedal? Any way at all??? Please help.....

Likely the memory is fragmented into tiny snipets much like hard drives get. For looping, the memory likely has to be contiguous chunks. Clear the memory and load each in sequence.

I shut down the system, waited 30 seconds, turned it back on, and the recording went fine. Must've been a glitch.

SOURCE: I record using a pre

how long is the track you are trying to master i believe it has to be over 30 seconds if your just sampling 8 or so seconds it wont work i know on some models its over a minute to be able to master mix a track.

SOURCE: record, playback problem

Hi Nick,

The fuzz/white noise is a little confusing and it seems to be saying that you are recording something vs trying to record incorrectly and getting nothing at all. Anyway, despite that, I would try going over your recording steps first.

First off make sure your Hi-Z input is not set to the Hi-Z or guitar setting. It is possible your that MicroKorg is overloading the input and distorting. You should however have heard that in the headphones too, so I'm not so sure that's the problem. The next thing to check is to make sure your input is assigned to the track you expect to be recording on. (Press the input's button to check this. The select/record button over the track should flash).

Next make sure your track is armed for recording before you press 'play+record' (Record button above the track should light steady when recording).

Hope this helps.

Rc-50 recording silent wav files

Perhaps your computer's sound card is unable to play back at the bit rate and kHz you are recording at on your (mobile?) recorder. I'm not familiar with the RC-50 but if you are recording at 24 bit for example and your computer's sound card is only able to play back at 16 bit it may not reprosuce any sound. Usually you will get an error saying so. Have you tried different playback software?

Can i add more memory to the rc50 loop pedal

You can make a backup on your pc and load back Default settings or restore to default settings. Normally you should have I quote ' with up to 49 minutes of mono recording time (or 24 minutes in stereo), the RC-50 can function as a song recorder as well as a looper'

I have the RC300 which has 3 hrs recording time. But when i reach the limit. I make a backup and load back in a initial default setup which I have downloaded somewhere. But you can also restore to default from the unit itself. Hope this helps

I have the Roland Boss Rc-20xl Loop Station, and I'm running off of batteries I have been since I got the pedal. In the middle of recording a phrase the pedal shut off and started resetting itself...

Hello!
I am not positive on this but I would try to clear all of the loops. Try holding the right pedal for about 5 seconds.
If that does not work, hold the right pedal for about seconds while you turn off the unit. Release the right pedal then turn the unit back on.
Hope that helps!

Fostex MR 8 HD\CD adding treble and bass?

It APPEARS that the MR8 does NOT include the ability to EQ. They have delay effects and the like built in, but no EQ.

To answer your question then, you would need to have an EXTERNAL EQ unit and loop the vocal through that unit to do EQ to do it right.

When mastering, the "powerful/natural/and bright would be filters that will emphasize the bass (powerful) or the treble (bright) but these are really not EQ's and you can ONLY choose one at a time.

Beggining of loop missing on FIRST playback only, on Boss RC-50.

Ok, solved this problem by visiting roland U.S. site as the help offered in this country is useless. The instructions given by email would not have worked even after the update was installed. Luckily, there are instructions that come with the download. If you have same problem as me go to http://www.rolandus.com/products/productdetails.php?ProductId=772&tab=downloads&skip=true

and update the opperating system on the RC-50 to RC-50 System Update Version 1.01.

Then hold loop sync and phrase 2 button (think it was phrase 2) to change it to sound priority mode. Then it will play back correctly what you recorded on the first loop, rather than missing the first beat.

Am v.happy I have found this, as after much searching I can't find any other loopers out there that offer 3 seperate loop tracks and the ability to switch between them effectively. Plus, it's a very convenient size, better than a load of rackmounted stuff to haul around.

However.....

Another problem..

When hitting the reverse switch ( I assigned both external footswitch and the onboard Tempo pedal to reverse) the change is not instanteaneous. There is a second or so delay before it plays in reverse. Not a problem for most, I suppose, but I have a piece that switches rythmicaly between playing forward and reverse which means hitting a pedal in time and reverse/forwards changing immediately. I think they could do with another software update to solve this. Now I have to keep room in my enormous pedal board for the old rc-20, as that does the reverse as it should - when you hit the flippin switch!

GENERAL QUESTION

Hi,

I believe what Tascam means by the 'effect loop' on the 2488Mk2 is simply a send loop within the device which internal effects can be set on (vs. a the 'send loop' which exists when you send a track out the sends, through an external effect device, and then back through one the the 2488 inputs). This effect loop is sent to the stereo bus as well as the bounce sub mix.

To use the internal effects in this way you'd select a track with the 'select' button for the track (or you can do multiple tracks by repeating this process for each track one at a time). Then press the send button and on the top of the screen you'll see the effects loop. Just set your send there to 100 or so and that track will be sent to the internal effect loop and be affected by whatever single effects you have turned on. To print these tracks with effects you can either premaster or create a bounce mix. Just make sure you mute any tracks you don't want in a bounce because a bounce will record anything which is on the stereo bus.

(See page 42 in your manual for Tascam's explanation for using the single effect and page 58 for how to create a bounce submix).

Hope this helps.
