Skype video washed out

TV has an image burn into it? Put the tv in white wash (all white screen) by going into your settings. By having it in an all white screen may help get rid of the burn image. Must have it on white wash for some hours until you can see that the image is disappearing.

try to uninstall arc and check your cam.
If you're having problem only when using Skype, check tools>options>video settings>webcam>picture>check black and white if it is active. Good luck!

Please check if the webcam is detected in the device manager, if yes then follow the step's below. Skype To set up and use your webcam in Skype, follow the steps below. Be sure to upgrade to the latest version of Skype from http://www.skype.com .

1. Log into Skype.
2. Double-click a user also logged into Skype from your Contact List to begin an instant message.
3. Click the Check settings icon to set up your microphone, speakers, and webcam.
NOTE: Sometimes, Skype does not recognize the HP default microphone. If the microphone is not working, go to Device Manager and select the Integrated Microphone Array .
4. Click the Video Call icon to begin a video chat.

5. An invitation will be sent to the other user. To start the webcam, the other user must click Answer . A video image will display in the instant message.
If the other user wishes to share their webcam with you, they will need to click their Video call icon, and you will need to accept their invitation when prompted.
6. To end the video chat, click the red telephone icon .

Wait till the voice tells you to record. Then when finished talking wait for the test persons voice to insure your audio transmission is working. Then go back to options and test your video settings. Seems not a problem of your camera as the image it records of you is transmitted clearly to the folks you call. Maybe those people should get the same camera you use.

Or it is skype - i use skype, but some of my friends move to MSN as they say it supports better quality experience of video chats

Normal 0 Did you install the software with the camera connected to the computer? Disconnect the camera from the USB port and reinstall the software. When the program asks you to connect the camera, do so, and it should work. Hope this is of some help. Bud
