Seas garage door opener model 139.53928d will not close. Light flashes and door moves a few inches. We had a long power outage yesterday

You need to check your SAFETY beam
the two little black boxes on both sides of your garage door
(typically about ONE foot above the floor level...
should be showing a green & a red light when pointed
DIRECTLY at each-other )).

Red = unbroken beam.
Green = Power on.

You can HOLD down the WIRED button
to override this SAFETY feature....

Do check your owners manual.

it is possible you OUTAGE fried your electronics
but the most common cause is these BOXES are't
properly aligned.

After opening door does not want go down unless you hold button on kee pad down. Light on unit flashes

Make sure the safety beam attached to the track near the floor are pointing at each other, if one gets bumped, the opener believes something is under the door and will not close it. I hope it goes without saying, ensure nothing is under the door that can break the beam.

How to get my garage door to open all the way?

Three blinking lights & door won't close by Candi
(Winston-Salem, NC)
Garage door will not open and close with remotes. Three blinking lights occur when we try to close door. What does this mean? It is a Linear unit.

I will assume you mean that your garage door will open with your remote but will not close. It should close if you press and hold the wall control button until the door is fully closed.

If that is the case, the 3 blinking lights indicate that your garage door's infrared safety beams are not properly aligned.

1) Check that the operator has power. The green lights on the sender and receiver should be lit.

2) If the receiver's green light is on, but the red light is off, the receiver has power but is not detecting the infrared beam from the sender. The red light might flash when the beam is partially detected. This can be caused by
mis-alignment or something blocking the beam.

Adjust the safety beam sender and receiver while watching the receiver's red light (stay out of the beam while aligning it). When the red light stays on, the beam is aligned and your garage door should operate normally.

NOTE: If the receiver's red light remains off, check for:

1) Dirt on the receiver's lens,

2) Sunlight shining into the receiver's lens,

3) A short in the safety beam wiring (from staples or at the operator terminals).

The door goes partially down then back up. The lights flash. What can I do to fix this?

check your safety photo eyes are lined up. you will have one on each side of the door on the bottom by the guide tracks. you should be able to see an LED "light" solid is good flashing is bad.

a solid light means the the photo beam is good from one side to the other and you should be able to block the beam with your foot and see the led go from solid to flashing.

Sears 41A4315-7E garage door opener trouble codes. The door opener works manually. When the remote is used the unit receives the signal but the light flashes 4 times and the door doesn't work. Got any...

4 FLASHES TELLS YOU THAT THE PROBLEM IS WITH THE SAFETY EYES.

THEY MAY BE OUT OF ALIGNMENT OR HAVE A DIRTY LENS.

BE SURE THE EYES ARE CLEAN, MOUNTED SOLDILY AND AIMED CAREFULLY.

THE LEDS SHOULD BE LIT BRIGHT AND STEADY (NO FLASHING OR FLICKER)

NOTE: IF SAFETY EYES ARE MOUNTED TO THE TRACK THEY MAY MOVE OUT OF ADJUSTMENT AS THE DOOR GOES UP AND DOWN. - ADJUST TRACK

HOPE THIS HELPS

Remote does not open or close garage door; inside button flashes

What has happened is that you electric eyes are blocked or have gone out. The eyes are at the garage door about a foot of the ground on both sides. There should be a red or green light on one of them. If not some thing is blocking the beam that goes across the door. It is a safety beam so kids can nt get hurt when the door is coming down. If the beam is broke the door will go back up.
