Try
Green & Blacks chocolates. They are
organic but also fair trade. If you check out their website they explain the
whole process and where you can buy their products. I'm a big fan of their
chocolates. They taste very good.
Chocolate is high in fat and calories (less so for high percentage dark cocoa bean chocolates), but it does also have anti-oxidents in and research shows that they can help against specific diseases. Chocolate also is a good source of magnesium.
if you drink it in moderation you can have hot chocolate with diabetes. It's better to make your own with unsweetened cocoa powder and then use artificial sweeteners to make it taste sweeter. You can use packet hot chocolate but you must read the nutritional information at the back so you know what's in it. You can also buy low-sugar versions.
You can
basically substitute any non dairy products for milk and then follow the
regular recipe for hot chocolate i.e. heat the 'milk' and add chocolate till it
melts and stir in sugar to taste.
Be careful
with the sugar amounts as some of the non dairy milks ie soya are quite sweet
already.
You can try using almond or rice milk as well or just buy a non-dairy creamer.
