IMac desktop turns on but no display

The first thing to do is check that the brightness is turned up.
Then connect an external display to the iMac to see if the external screen is detected.
If it is, shine a torch at an angle onto the iMac screen to see if the display is working. If you can see the desktop, it's a backlight fault.
If there is no display on the external monitor, it's a graphics processor fault.

Loaded XPlane 10 on new iMac and rudder pedals no longer function?

My iMac has a CD/DVD drive, but I posted a X-Plane 10 pendrive to avoid inserting DVD #1 every session. It functions perfectly. Another point is to connect all peripherals (stick and pedals etc.) BEFORE launching X-Plane 10. Then calibrate your peripherals within XP 10.
I have no pedals set, but instead a pitch-stick with grip throttle and a Logitech joystick with twist grip to fly helicopters.

My imacs screen wont show up what do i do?

get an external monitor and the correct dvi adapter and plug it in to te back and turn it m Make sure that in the >System Preferences>Displays you have mirroring turned on then you should be able to a least use your mac. My sister had the same problem this solved it somewhat She hides the iMAC behind the new screen. Only other solution would be to take the iMAc in and probably have the display board replaced which would cost you more than the new screen. You will still have the new screen to put on a new computer and use it as a second display.
I have two 24 inch displays on my computer

Imac continuosly goes to sleep

Go into System Prefs, Energy Saver and disable sleep for hard drives and display. If it still appears your computer is going to sleep, this may be a display problem, being caused by logic board, actual display or graphics card, all requiring a trip to the apple store for service.

I have an iMac G5 2Ghz that when it start up you can only see video for a few seconds. I connected an external monitor and my iMac works fine but with its on LCD there is no video. I check the logic board...

Sir,
The iMac G5 and iMac G5 (Ambient Light Sensor) computers have a video out port located on the back of the computer, which will mirror video. Video mirroring means you can see the same image that is on the iMac G5's flat-panel display on an external monitor, television, or projector.
Using the video out port, you can mirror video with a compatible VGA display using the Apple VGA Display Adapter.
You can also use the video mirroring feature with a television or projector that has S-video or composite video connectors when you use the Apple Video Adapter.
Both the Apple VGA Display Adapter (M8639G/A) and the Apple Video Adapter (M9109G/A) are available separately, and are needed if you want to use your iMac with a VGA monitor cable, S-video cable, or composite video cable.
The video mirroring feature is "plug and play". Simply connect a VGA display, television, or projector to the appropriate adapter (see above), then connect the adapter to the video out port located on the back of the computer.
When you connect the adapter to the computer, the screen may refresh momentarily as the computer prepares itself for the new video output. The computer tries to match the resolution of the built-in and external display. If there is no match, the computer changes both screen resolutions and may black out areas on the built-in display in order to match the capabilities of the external display.
Important: To ensure that your iMac G5 automatically detects the external display or projector, be sure you plug the adapter into the external display or projector before you plug it into the iMac G5.
You can switch resolutions and frequencies for both the iMac G5 flat-panel display and the external display, television, or projector using Displays preferences.
Want to watch a DVD movie disc on a television that's connected to your iMac G5? Select a 720 x 480 NTSC (in the United States) or 720 x 576 PAL (in Europe and other regions) resolution in Displays preferences.
Tip: Because of the display limitations of most televisions, the images displayed on a television screen are usually not as high quality as those on the built-in display or an external monitor.

Thanks
Good Luck

New imac 24inch screen does not start

Hi there,

If you have re-installed the RAM without any luck, it looks like you have to take trip to your closest Apple Repairer. It could be any number of problems. Video card, display, logic board. Only when it has been diagnosed will it be known. If the computer is less than 10 days old you can ask for a new one. Yours would be classed as DOA. If not, standard warranty it 12 months from the Invoice date.

Hope this helps

Imac / illustrator10

According to something I read in another forum:
Use migration assistant (in utilities) to copy over Illustrator 10 via firewire from your G4 to your imac. This is the only thing that might work without upgrading to a newer version of Illustrator.

I'm planning on trying it with both Illustrator 10 and Indesign 2.0 - Photoshop 7 won't go at all no matter what one tries according to what I've read. I'll be upgrading to CS3 for Photoshop. No choice.
