If the refrigerator is not defrosting, the defrost control board might be defective. The defrost control board monitors several conditions and determines how often to run the defrost cycle. If the board fails, the refrigerator will not go into the defrost cycle. Eventually, ice will build up on the evaporator coil and then the refrigerator and or freezer will not stay cold enough. This will depend on where the evaporator is located. It's prudent to check the defrost heater and defrost thermostat for continuity before replacing the defrost control board. If that is not the problem then the coil might have a hole in it and needs repair and coolent rechrge.
how old is your model you have. a weak pump will make the system slower to get to temp even a broken seal can do this. even just a few mil gap can make it do this. if you close the door then re-open it it should be harder to open the door. this is the seal being nice and tight to its fittings.
23 degrees definitely no good. Your getting some refrigeration though so compressor probably OK. Could not be seized. This may not be a hermetic system .you may have lost some refrigerant. But sounds more like your not defrosting .Have freezer guy check for manual defrost switch or defrost timer . Re post with more information for more help
Your defrost timer is probably staying on too long, or the defrost thermostat is not sensing that the temperature was that high. It does tell you that the defrost heater is operational, just that it is staying on too long.
defrost cycle is innactive, will ice up shortly and may not turn compressor off, defrost the unit totally(Turn off for 2 days with door open) and remove all water from the unit once done. Restart unit and should work normal for a week or so, ie...defrost cycle...get back to me if this is the case and will sort it from there, [email protected] Russ
first, check defrost timer function, then check heater functions. Is power making it to the heaters? Does the heater have continuity? How long, if at all, does it stay in defrost? Some unit have a defrost terminator, and, when it fails, it will go in and out of defrost instantly.,. Start there my friend.
look at level side to side , and front to back. if not level door can leak . you will see water where it is leaking. check defroster is if staying on .
This freezer has a manual defrost control on it, comes this way. Also has defrost drain hose in the front with a wrap around evaporator and condenser coil. A unit should only defrost for about 45 minutes to remove any build up, 4 days indicates it is stuck in defrost. It doesn't show the cross over temp to F from C on my chart at 0.2 degrees. You should have a defrost control that you are able to put into defrost your self. Look around the back or anywhere there may be a removable panel or it should show you where to put this box into defrost since it is manual and not automatic.Give it a turn in the direction and watch to see what happens. It may go into defrost again and come back out on its own and freeze properly. If it continues to stay in defrost, you will need to replace this timer. Take all of the info and pick one up at a appliance parts house that will stock it. Draw you a diagram so you dont forget how you removed it and that will make it much easier to install. I will also send you a link about this freezer next. It will be coming to you after you get this. Keep me posted. Shastalaker7
You are most likely correct. Most manufacturers of freezers have fan delay/defrost terminators. But keep in mind that if the box is hot, it will not stay in defrost as that is what the terminator is designed to do. Does the unit ever get cold? You may have a refrigeration problem and the terminator is good. If you can give some additional info, I'll be glad to keep assisting you to get it going.
Either your defrost timer, defrost heater or defrost thermostat has failed.
All parts are located behind the lower back panel inside the freezer.
Most likely are the defrost heater and defrost thermostat.
