I am getting an 0E error, but only intermittantly, and only for the last year or so. It usually only happens every couple of months or so, and in-between, ***several*** loads of laundry have been done without problem. I can usually clear it by unplugging the washer while I drain the water through the drain hose and checking the filter. (Usually there is nothing in the filter.) Once it is drained, I plug it back in and it works for some random length of time before it happens again. I have had this washer for about 5 years and nothing has changed with the installation. (I did replace the hot water inlet valve and door switch recently (within the last 4 months or so), but neither of those should have had any effect on this problem.) Any suggestion on what might be causing this and/or what I can do to keep it from happening?
I believe the OE error is generated if it takes too long for the washing machine to drain. If the drain is blocked or the pump is is not functioning well, the error will show up intermittently. I believe we experienced a similar error a couple of years back. After verifying the drain was clear, I replaced the drain motor, I believe the washing machine was about 5 years old at that time.

Hi dear.OE code meaning on Lg washer's"machine unable to drain in 10minutes". You can make a little test. Please remove the filter & pour some water in side drum ,watch for water coming out of filter. If it's slow, tub to pump hose clogged.(there must be some sort of fluff or coin clogging hose)if it's not slow, waters comes out freely, run machine on drain cycle & check the pump motor is it running smoothly? If not change the pump.I hope that helps.Thanks.

You are likely using too much detergent or the detergent is not high-efficiency detergent. Change detergents and/or lower amount and this problem should go away.
The water port on the back allows air inside the tub to escape. However, if the wrong type or quantity of detergent are used, excess suds will flow from this port.

Check first if repositioning the drain hose would help solve the problem. If your unit employs a drain valve, have it checked out. It has a solenoid or a small motor that opens and closes the part. Check as well the drain pump if it is running or no power is being supplied. Have the wire checked to see if there are loose connections.

The impeller may have come off the pump motor shaft. Generally, you will notice a louder sound when the pump runs if this happened.
Unplug the machine. Remove the filter recess by removing the one screw inside and using a putty knife at the left and / or right edge and popping it out. Pull the machine out about 18 inches and tip it back, resting it against the wall. Remove two more screws behind where the recess was holding the pump housing on. Reach under the machine and remove pump. There is a tab to depress under the pump housing to release it from the base. The pump motor is held onto the housing by three screws. Remove them and inspect the impeller to see if it has come off the shaft. If it has, pushing it back on will not solve the problem, as it will come off again. Install new pump motor and reassemble. Clean washer tub with the longest, hottest cycle and three Ah-fresh tablets, Whirlaway hot tub cleaner, Smellywasher cleaner (smellywashercleaner.com) or Tide washer cleaner. Repeat. From now on, use only 1 tablespoon of HE laundry detergent per load (1/2 T if 2X concentrate) and only 1 teaspoon of fabric softener per load if you use it. (these machines use very little water, and thus require reduced amounts of additives to work properly)

In all likelihood the rubber drain hose is clogged. I had the same problem with my LG front loader. The hose was clogged with sand and dirt almost the entire length of the hose. The following solution is far simpler than taking the dryer apart to clear the drain hose. Besides I figure this same thing could keep reoccurring with all the sand and dirt we get in our clothes here in East Texas.
I purchased about 4 feet of 3/16 inch OD vinyl tubing and adapted it to fit on the end of a garden hose. The adapter gizmo included a valve so I could control the water flow and not give myself a bath. A picture of the gizmo is included below. Make sure that when you connect the water hose to the faucet that the faucet valve is just slightly opened and that the gizmo valve is closed. Using the gizmo is straight forward. First remove the drain filter and than insert the vinyl tubing in the end of the rubber drain hose and slowly open the valve on the gizmo. Make sure you have a large pan or bucket underneath the drain hose to catch the debris and water. Slowly advance the tubing up inside the hose until it won’t go any further. By this time water will also be running out of the drain filter cavity which will indicate the clog has been removed. Continue back flushing for a few more seconds to assure all the debris has been cleared, than clean up and you’re finished.

None of the automatically generated suggestions below are applicable. As I mentioned, the washer works fine between the OE error occurrences. If the drain pump wasn't working, then it would be a constant problem, not an intermittent one. Same for the suggestion that the drain hose be repositioned. As for the detergent, we have a 1 tablespoon measuring cup from a child's medication that we use to measure the detergent, so I doubt if that is the problem.
After some searching, I managed to find a service manual for this model. Using that - and some common sense - I determined the drain pump to be bad. Once it was replaced everything now works.
Interesting side note - Parts for this washer seem to last about 5 years. Within the last 6 months, I have replaced the door switch (OE error/not locking), the hot water inlet valve (leaking), and now the drain pump.
Que Sera, Sera!
For the door swtich, I meant dE error, not OE. :-(
