It was probably connected backwards in polarity from a power supply which burnt a diode. These things have backwards polarity of 9v adapters which means positive on the outside of the plug and ground in the middle, unless you have the original boss power supply. If you have a generic power supply, cut the plug off and switch the wires and try it.
Thanks for the reply. I am using the original BOSS power supply. It has always workd until about two sundays ago. The power supply still works on my older TU-2 model so I know it is not the power supply or the battery(also new). I read abut a problem with another BOSS pedal of some sort that if the power supply was pluged in to the output by mistake it could burn up a diode. Is this true, and if so where is the diode located? Does anyone have schematics for the TU-3? Can anyone recomend a repair shop that would work on these pedals in the Ft. Worth, Texas area. I am a capable DIYer but those circuit boards are small.
Did you get your TU-3 repaired. I have a similar problem with my TU-2. I also live in the Fort Worth. Are you a singer/picker?
