What type of connections does your tv have, hdmi, component? Match up the connection from the bose series 3 to your hdtv. I don't want to assume that your tv has hdmi, which would provide the best signal throughput & quality.

Hi and welcome to FixYa,

Appreciate the direct "Ask Me".

Initially, the 14 seconds interval is significant. This is indicative that whatever fault it is, it is coupled to a time-based circuitry. The time-based circuitry need not be complicated. it can actually be a simple resistor/capacitor network. The capacitor takes a certain amount of time to charge and then discharge (14 seconds, 'whoomp'). Having said this, then the foremost suspect would be an electrolytic capacitor, probably low value (1~4.7uF), probably a coupler/decoupler. Of course the capacitor serving other functions could very well be the culprit as well.

Corrective measure would entail, identifying/determining which capacitor and replacement. Tedious as it may sound, each capacitor would then have to be tested for capacitance and leakage out of circuit or at least 1 leg un-soldered.

Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa.

Pls be informed that due to my current rank and rating, even a Helpful would be detrimental to my status. Should this solution not address your concern, it would be appreciated if you could just not rate it at all. Cheers.

SOURCE: Samsung TV and Bose Campanion 3 speakers

Are these PC speakers? OF so you need a stereo RCA to min-jack cable, assuming the TV has a set of RCA audio outputs.

SOURCE: Can I hook up the Bose Companion 2 series speakers

Hi,
Well if you currently find the sound of the Bose acceptable and your inbuilt HD TV speakers poor, then the answer is yes. Should you not like the sound of the Bose, plugging them into an HD TV won't make them sound any better :-)

Just use the headphone out of your HD TV to connect. You may find you need to enable the headphone socket/volume via the menu settings on your HD TV

You will not have any luck, The Screen only uses RF for control. As far as I know there is no IR receiver on the unit or any RS232!! A nightmare for integrating this product into universal control systems.

Hooking up bose 321 to my tv

I am about to go through the same process. I have a Bose 321, and am on the verge of getting a HDTV. From what I can figure, the Bose can play a dvd and input it to the HDTV via video and audio output plugs off the back of the Bose to the audio/video input jacks on the back of the new HDTV. I think individual cables will have to be run for each. They usually are red or white, sometimes green or blue. I am sure everyone has seen these in their life. The Bose 321 technology only had what was called an S-Video cable output for the best picture, which is how my current tv gets it's Bose signal, but now HDMI seems to have superceded S-Video. Therein lies an obstacle to be overcome.
